Alex if pilot flame it's right at thermocouple it's supposed it to open the gas valve why the gas valve it's shut off if the thermocouple it's hot all time ?
Hola Adolfo muy buena tu pregunta. Acuérdate que este tipo de valvula de gas se llama "valvula de gas combinada". Tiene dos recamaras. Cuando el termostato quiere calefacción manda una señal a la valvula de zona. Cuando la valvula de zona se energiza , le manda señal a la bomba que circula el agua y a la valvula de gas. Entonces se abre la primera a compuerta y el gas pasa. Si el termoscouple tiene buen piloto entonces el gas pasa a los quemadores. Si el piloto se apaga, entonces el thrmocouple no puede abrir la segunda compuerta y no pasa el gas a los quemadores. Si todo esta bien entonces el gas pasa pro la segunda compuerta. Me cuentas si me pude explicar. Este es un sistema de seguridad por si se apaga el piloto por cualquiera razón, el gas no va a salir aunque el termostato este chingue y chingue que quiere calor. Tienes que arreglar la falla primero. Arre!!
Im so sorry. I answered in Spanish.!!! So this type of valve is called "combination gas valve'" with thermocouple. It has two chambers. One is controlled by the thermostat in a call for heat. The other one is controlled by the thermocouple . When the thermostat calls for heat, this energizes the zone valve, a this one energizes the pump and the burners. Gas enters the first chamber first. If thermocouple is receiving the flame from the pilot then is going to be open and the gas goes to burners. If for any reason the pilot fails. Then there is not power to open the second chamber , Thus not allowing the gas to go to burner. This is a safety device so for whatever reason the pilot flames fails, it will not send gas to burners. ) bc there is no flame to ignite the gas.
