On some level, sometimes I feel like the boutique market could've stopped back in the day with you, him, Mr. Vex, Mr. Fuller, and Analog Mike, and most of us would've just been happy as can be for the rest of our days lol But hey, total market saturation notwithstanding, you keep up the great work! ;) :D
I thought about that once. Problem is, I needed to be inspired by guys like Earthquaker, JHS, Mr. Black, Wampler, etc. Those guys keep me hungry and searching for new sounds. Indirectly even, just the fact that I want to create sounds that have never been done in a pedal, good reasons to have lots of healthy competition. Of course when I look at the bank statements of the past, I'm like, "Dang! I had it so gooood!"
The Captain is the best salesman, the kind who lets the product speak for themselves. Telling it like it is! His comparisons to other products is done to help you get an idea of the product, reference point, and in what ballpark the sound is. Excellent video as always!
I love this channel, and all the guys, but I gotta be honest, there was a certain satisfaction when Jeorge pointed out that we hear more with our eyes than we do with our ears. You'd think Lee of all people would know that based on all the blind tests he takes part in.
Doesn't make any sense. I don't understand why i'll happily sit here and watch a 45 minute interview with a guitar pedal designer (at 4am!). Until i figure it out, please keep doing what you're doing.
P.s. Anyone wondering about the red Llama, I don't consider it a fuzz. It doesn't sound great at home, but with the gain low and the volume high it comes to life on stage as a mild to heavy OD, like an extension of your amp.
100% agree with what Lee said about the Red Llama having to work well with your amp. I just couldn't get a good sound out of mine, but other people swear by them. The same is true of most drive pedals, I find.
Jeorge should combine the sugar drive with the aqua puss into one pedal and call it the "SugarPuss". Or maybe the Blue Hippo with the Aqua Puss, with a wah pedal and call it the Blue Waffle.
Dave Young yeah but tbh canadians know that shits comin lol sometimes we domt even get snow same with england. a day of snow. its a shocker if we get a foot of snow with -15°c coldness
And 50cm of snow is bad. Huh. I just got back from skiing at Lake Tahoe, where the slopes got 2.5m of new snow in 10 days. I thought that was fun, not bad. My mistake.
I had a real good laugh watching Lee going on about the Kl*n pedal while Jeorge just kind of sat that not saying anything about it. Seems Mr. Tripps is all about his drive and fuzz pedals. Good job that man!!
How does the sugar drive compare to the way huge saucy drive? The saucy drive is 100% the best overdrive I’ve ever heard. It was better than a ktr or j rocket archer (all of which I own) and people always come look at my pedals at gigs and end up buying a saucy after hearing it on my board.
I have a couple of fuzz faces, and a Russian big muff and the muff always delivers, but the fuzz faces are fickle. They have to be in just the right places in the signal chain, but the muff can be anywhere.
Andertons Music Co Appreciate the reply and the heads up! None of the big online retailers seem to have it. Then on their own website it says it's unavailable too. May just have to go through Andertons! :)
That Tele is without a doubt the best sounding Tele I have ever heard. When Danish Pete used it in a video (I can't remember which one), is when I first fell in love with that guitar. Which model is it and what year?
Good guitar tone existed before the Klon, and I do have a Tumnus, and I like what it does for me, and I could care less about whether it is better than a Klon or not. I may even buy a Sugar drive, or a Klon KTR, but if I do it will be because it works for me, I am not going to view it with some kind of holy reverence. I can and will live without one.
the purple beast - has to be same guitar played in the - you heard the teles , heres the strats video - i just watched after the march 24, 2018 jeorge tripps, mxr,way huge, dunlop video - ok dinner was 3 cold beers but i feel like im at a video bbq party right now !!!!!
Capn's comment about the Red LLama was borderline insulting! Jeorge looked slightly offended.. That was one of his first creations, and you used 'Rubbish' in the same sentence. I get what you were trying to say about it being for more advanced players, but the delivery was a bit flawed. Oh well.. nothing to lose any sleep over..
Lee was right, I love Way Huge Supa Puss and Havalina but Red Llama is not for mediocre players like me. I was hoping to sound like Mike Campbell and Tom Petty but it sounds like my Les Paul ripping a Deluxe Reverb fart.
Blackarts Toneworks Pharoah if you want a full spectrum of good sounding fuzzes. The newish DOD Carcossa is amazing if you want a more modern sounding fuzz used by sludge guys. Though it does other things well too and it's cheap. Can never go wrong with a good old muff though.
I often wonder what the Klon/Klone would sound like if someone would remove the dual gang pot and add a separate clean blend control. Anyone doing this?
stopped watching after a few minutes. Mr puffer jacket keeps crossing his arms and putting hiss through the mic - so offputting. Andertons, you should have cut and addressed the issue.
bottleneck1100 waaaaaaah. If you’re watching a pedal video and all you can do is whine about some noise from a coat, I’d recommend finding something REAL to complain about.
*"The human eye hears better than the human ear"*
Thank you sir. Thank you.
George Tripps, always an inspiration for me. Great dude. He's Way Def Leppard.
Robert Keeley ah, Mr.Keeley
Much respect, Mr. Keeley.
Nice to know you're geeking out with the rest of us ;-)
On some level, sometimes I feel like the boutique market could've stopped back in the day with you, him, Mr. Vex, Mr. Fuller, and Analog Mike, and most of us would've just been happy as can be for the rest of our days lol But hey, total market saturation notwithstanding, you keep up the great work! ;) :D

Jeorge Tripps is an underground legend in my eyes. I love all his pedals.
Heyyyyy he’s not a giant brained mutant 😡😡😡😡
The Captain is the best salesman, the kind who lets the product speak for themselves. Telling it like it is! His comparisons to other products is done to help you get an idea of the product, reference point, and in what ballpark the sound is. Excellent video as always!
25:08 "Big Ian Thornley chords". That´s it, i´m sold!
I love Jeorge's dedication to showing the versatility of his pedals!
I love this channel, and all the guys, but I gotta be honest, there was a certain satisfaction when Jeorge pointed out that we hear more with our eyes than we do with our ears. You'd think Lee of all people would know that based on all the blind tests he takes part in.
Watch the top right of the screen at 19:15
HarryPlaysGuitar way Kul thanks man!
What type of sorcery is this?
what the hell
Mister Box :D
HarryPlaysGuitar Haha cool. I want my pedals to light up when I hit the strings.
Doesn't make any sense. I don't understand why i'll happily sit here and watch a 45 minute interview with a guitar pedal designer (at 4am!). Until i figure it out, please keep doing what you're doing.
CentaurusRelax314 That’s what the major TV broadcasters just can’t compete with.
wikichris my dad keeps asking what’s on tv tonight? I told him that we don’t hardly watch tv anymore. UA-cam over tv.
The human ear is the ultimate most sensitive listening device, especially when you get to your 40s and onwards, it just gets better and better
What makes me smile other than the Way Huge Pedals? Pete's famous purple Telecaster
Could have put the heating on for your guest !
;)
I think he just came off his flight from the US since they allude to that in the start, probably tired.
someone turn down his jacket, to loud lol
I love the Way Huge Mister Box randomly materializing on the wall mounted pedal rooster.
MR TRIPPS SURE KNOWS HOW TO GET THE BEST OUT OF HIS PEDALS!!!
Killer edition of this series. Thanks boys.
Sugar drive and the blue hippo sound awesome.
This was great guys thank you!
Wow this guy made the DL4. Must be one of them geniuses you hear about. Lol
Jeorge has a bit of a Bryan Cranston vibe
Jeorge Tripps is the man!
New way huge pedal - Mister Box creeping into shots here there and everywhere in this clip. Very cool!!
Love Jeorge and way huge . I have a couple way huge pedals , I need all the rest .
The look on Jeorge's face when Lee is talking about the Llama... ouch. I get what Lee was saying, but...ouch.
I love my way huge green rhino and my carbon copy
This is heavy Doc!
Jumbo Swollen Pickle and Saucy Box are two of my faves.
Enjoyed this. Not like the usual pedal designer geek. Like all the great pedal guys he’s got great ears.
The purple strat with the adonized scratch scratch plate is so sick. Is it Pete’s or a stock item?
£3,859.00 Inc. VAT
Johnny The Blacksmith my god that's like the yearly salary of the common Indian man
*anodized :D
Gooby that’ll be why spell check didn’t like it lol
No, I'm cool with the concept of adonizing your instrument ;-)
Jeorge should combine the sugar drive with the aqua puss into one pedal and call it the "SugarPuss". Or maybe the Blue Hippo with the Aqua Puss, with a wah pedal and call it the Blue Waffle.
Felix Blacksher The Blue Waffle might scare a few people off. Google Blue Waffle hahaha
Thatsthejoke.jpg
Felix Blacksher Ya, I should have realized that. I'm a bit slow this morning 😔
Chris Hepburn that's ok. Maybe some others here who aren't sure about it will Google it now. Those poor souls.
What pedal(s) was Jorge using on the Zeppelin lick in the intro?
2.5 cm of snow... (canadian guy chuckles)....cute....
Dave Young northern Minnesotan can confirm
Dave Young yeah but tbh canadians know that shits comin lol sometimes we domt even get snow same with england. a day of snow. its a shocker if we get a foot of snow with -15°c coldness
And 50cm of snow is bad. Huh. I just got back from skiing at Lake Tahoe, where the slopes got 2.5m of new snow in 10 days. I thought that was fun, not bad. My mistake.
Dear Way Huge,
Please bring back the RingWorm!!! PLEASE!
-All the Best,
The ring moded bassist.
Starts playing Van Halen - Somebody Get me a Doctor. Respected immediately.
Way Huge Thumb Drive, thats it! Great video
I had a real good laugh watching Lee going on about the Kl*n pedal while Jeorge just kind of sat that not saying anything about it. Seems Mr. Tripps is all about his drive and fuzz pedals. Good job that man!!
ending was so cool
Puffy Coat! 👍👏👏👏
Hi! I have a 1998 Green Rhino overdrive and the switch is failing. Can you please recommend what switch I can replace it with? Thank you!
what a tasty dude! and what a great episode, well done andertons! love stuff like this :)
Nice purple colour on that strat.
26:27 gold
We got 1m snow one weekend guys... yea we had some trouble but everyone went to work, school or whatever on monday xP
Turn the heat on in there guys.
I have a couple of fuzz faces, and a Russian big muff and the muff always delivers, but the fuzz faces are fickle. They have to be in just the right places in the signal chain, but the muff can be anywhere.
what pedal was used in the intro?
Wait what? How do I get my hands on a Tripps Fuzz Face???? 😱😱😱😱
What kind of pickups do he use in that strat ?
The electric ones
CaseyUK Yeah i know these pickups they are the ones with magnets and wires right?
Danny Puffin Texas special in the bridge, 65 in the middle and a 69 in the neck.
coffeewaldo no they are single coils, texas is a state
Man, everyones loving the purple on anodised pickguard...Andy, That pedal show and you guys are the guitar demo gods.
You can get a waza Ce-2 without problems cap hehe
whats that riff at 0:35 ?
That Geisha thing sounds dope. 👍
Holy lol at that annoying jacket! Reminds me of Seinfeld where George is wearing the giant gortex jacket.
When will the Aqua Puss Small be available? I've been looking since NAMM!
It is. And they are using it in the video ;-)
Andertons Music Co Appreciate the reply and the heads up! None of the big online retailers seem to have it. Then on their own website it says it's unavailable too. May just have to go through Andertons! :)
very cool
The red llama may be the best overdrive pedal of all time.
Way huge pedals ftw
That Tele is without a doubt the best sounding Tele I have ever heard. When Danish Pete used it in a video (I can't remember which one), is when I first fell in love with that guitar. Which model is it and what year?
Mostly what pickups
Nice video, guys.
Will the Captain meet Matt Bellamy one day ? :D
I gotta say that Russion Pickle sounds noice
Good guitar tone existed before the Klon, and I do have a Tumnus, and I like what it does for me, and I could care less about whether it is better than a Klon or not. I may even buy a Sugar drive, or a Klon KTR, but if I do it will be because it works for me, I am not going to view it with some kind of holy reverence. I can and will live without one.
Dude seems like a nice guy.
3:35 Way Huge Mister Box sightings
Is it cold in there or something?
First question off the bat: what pick is he using? Is it a chickenpick?
the snow has melted here in scotland now. we still need an extra 3 weeks to recover from this tragedy ❄🌬😶
Cpt " My board is this big"!
the purple beast - has to be same guitar played in the - you heard the teles , heres the strats video - i just watched after the march 24, 2018 jeorge tripps, mxr,way huge, dunlop video - ok dinner was 3 cold beers but i feel like im at a video bbq party right now !!!!!
Jeorge Tripps, Keeley, Wampler, Zvex, the holy quadrilogy.
"SCIENCE!" -Thomas Dolby 1982
The drive side of the Guildford Drive is a Red Llama clone, fyi.
I like to run my Swollen Pickle into a SupaPuss. Sometimes I like a Big Muff on my Cocked Wah. But my favorite is a Camel Toe and Super Hard On.
Kyle Kampman +1 for effort
Capn's comment about the Red LLama was borderline insulting! Jeorge looked slightly offended.. That was one of his first creations, and you used 'Rubbish' in the same sentence. I get what you were trying to say about it being for more advanced players, but the delivery was a bit flawed. Oh well.. nothing to lose any sleep over..
50 cm of snow is bad? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Try visiting Norway!
Try visiting Columbia!! :-)
We have zero snow here :(
Andertons Music Co I'm just gonna assume you ment British Columbia, hahaha :-)
HAHA SNOW
"15 cm of snow, it's really bad". Scandinavia giggles...
How did Tom Hanks find time to do all of this?
Lee, please stop working so hard to pigeon hole gear.
Lee nearly got choke slammed 999 times for saying stupid shit. Tripps really is a awesome guy!
Lee was right, I love Way Huge Supa Puss and Havalina but Red Llama is not for mediocre players like me. I was hoping to sound like Mike Campbell and Tom Petty but it sounds like my Les Paul ripping a Deluxe Reverb fart.
Soon should be buying a fuzz not sure what yet
Blackarts Toneworks Pharoah if you want a full spectrum of good sounding fuzzes. The newish DOD Carcossa is amazing if you want a more modern sounding fuzz used by sludge guys. Though it does other things well too and it's cheap. Can never go wrong with a good old muff though.
is he secretly David Harbour?
azrul666 Damn there’s def a resemblance and a similar voice
Secretly? I thought this was well known?
I often wonder what the Klon/Klone would sound like if someone would remove the dual gang pot and add a separate clean blend control. Anyone doing this?
TheBigGuppy i think Jeorge basically did that with the pork loin
DAVIE 504 bass PLEASE
Wtf is a centimeter? Is it a tone wood?
Back to school... :-)
The Captain started way more sentences than he finished.
all those killer gains amps, and you put through the drive channel of a hot rod. wtf
Way Huge eventually Cloned well "the pedal that shall not be named." Conspiracy Theory (Gold) #PRSHorseMeat
I though the video title was some dirty joke I was struggling to get
I felt this interview was really awkward at times. Specially when Lee kept referring to the Sugar Drive as a Klon.
Is Man not hot?
Ha ha, bust out the thumb pedal !!
Loved the sound of the Sugar Drive in the NAMM vids ( ua-cam.com/video/c2iI3JnkQ6c/v-deo.htmlm2s ) think I'm going to have to invest!
The guy with the worst ears on the planet in blind tests sits there saying ears are better than science hahaha!
These videos are like crack for the band! Can’t stop watching must rehearse! Ugh!!!!!!!
Lee stop blubbering
Maybe ask guest to take off their scratchy puffy jackets next time, so we dont have to hear it scrape the mic the whole video. Please and thank you.
stopped watching after a few minutes. Mr puffer jacket keeps crossing his arms and putting hiss through the mic - so offputting. Andertons, you should have cut and addressed the issue.
bottleneck1100 waaaaaaah. If you’re watching a pedal video and all you can do is whine about some noise from a coat, I’d recommend finding something REAL to complain about.
bottleneck1100 pussy
Try making your coffee with a smaller dose.
I like to comment on the fashion! His jacket is in style. Lol
