The Citizens of the Kingdom - Matthew 18:21-35

I. OUR DEBTS WERE FORGIVEN BECAUSE OF GOD'S MERCY
A. The servant's piles of debts were unfeasible for him to pay - vv. 23-25
B. The servant plea for deferment, but the king granted him a full amnesty - vv. 26-27
C. The servant's pride and destruction serves as a warning to those unforgiving spirits - vv. 28-30
II. OUR DUTY IS TO FORGIVE OTHERS ALSO
A. Cultivate a forgiving spirit - vv. 21-22
B. Commit to forget bitterness - Gen. 41:51
C. Continue to forge temperance - I Cor. 9:25
III. OUR DESTINY IS FORSAKE THE THINGS OF THE WORLD
A. We must be faithful to please God - Rom. 12:1
B. We must forsake the pleasures of the world - I John 2:15-17
