Amitayus - Mantra by Chogyal Rinpoche

Amitayus (Tsepame) is an emanation of the Dhyani Buddha Amitabha in the state of joy and belongs to the Lotus family. He is associated with Dewachen, a state of mind that equals a pure land where the conditions for attaining enlightenment are ideal. It is said that one can be reborn into Dewachen through personal merit or trust in Amitabha or Amitayus. This confidence can be gained, for example, through the practice of conscious dying (Tib. pho wa).
Amitayus embodies long life and health. Meditating on him, one can bring all physical qualities to full development, prevent untimely death and realise the immortality of the mind.
The mantra is:
ཨོཾ་ཨ་མཱ་ར་ཎི་ཛཱི་ཝནྟི་ཡེ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།
OM AMARANI DZIWENTAYE SOHA
The long-life Buddhas very often appear in a group of three: Amitayus, whose mantra you can hear here, Sita-Tara (Dolkar), and Ushnishaviyaya (Namgyalma).
