      @@thischannelisdeleted Yes really, none of the "high profile" athletes won trials, maybe jrod and oliver taza coming 2nd.There will definitely be some newcomers making a scene at adcc worlds.

      Or drug pool? As long as ADCC does not test athletes for PEDs its just a meathead freakshow for dumb fans. Might as well watch WWE. Every respectable sport has doping control.

    Thanks for putting out so much grappling content. I'm 42, not interested in having knee surgery, so I'm not going to ever have direct experience in grappling. But I already met my initial goal of watching grappling videos, to better understand mma. Now I enjoy grappling as its own thing, especially after getting to know some of the characters involved. The B Team youtube channel is nice that way, can't help but feel happy for Damien seeing that.
    My entry into watching this stuff was 7th Planet, so it was cool to see Geo have a nice sub. He has been featured in the rise of the best young grapplers by being defeated by them, cool to see the opposite. I keep wondering if 7th Planet will ever turn a corner and just dominate on the top level some year. Probably too late, the world has gotten really good at grappling again, new talents and approaches have strengthened and diversified the ecosystem.
    The UFC appears to be reaching a level where more natural talent is chosing mma over other sports. I don't think we are anywhere near the skill ceiling in mma or grappling. Watching databases take form, like from that Less Impressed More Involved youtube channel, is really cool. More talents like Jozef Chen will rise up from the general dissemination of the full grappling or mma meta. People don't need to start as children to quickly grow mad skilled if the system they learn from is really good.

      Be kind. They’re new. Non participating spectators are what will make the sport grow.

    • @HoboGardenerBen
      @HoboGardenerBen 5 місяців тому +2

      @@lennon78 Yeah, grappling will remain a pretty niche sport if non-participating fans are not part of the mix. I would start, but I have heard too many grapplers talk about joint injuries and surgery, it's just not worth it unless you compete professionally. All it take is some roided out competitior-to-be to take things too far in their quest for glory to leave someone with a serious permanent injury. I have too many other things in life that I love that require working joints to let that happen. Not engaging people with cauliflower ears is a good general gameplan, but I will certainly enjoy their skills from afar.
