  • Hello friends and welcome back to in the studio with Ophelia. Thanks so much for joining me today.
I initially saw this water marbling with Deco Art at NAMTA and well....I had to have it. I immediately loved that there was no smell and it all seemed pretty simple during the demo. We all know that I absolutely LOVE creating papers, so I had to give this a try!!!
    Products Used:
Deco Art Water Marbling Magic Medium Water Prep: This one is used for paper - there is another one that is used for fabrics.

@@OpheliaStatonArtist I love watching your vids even though it’s not as much fun as playing in person. 😘

I have marbled fabric before. I bought the supplies about 20 years ago in a craft store that was in downtown Asheville. It was fun, but so messy. I even looked up how to dispose of the contents of the tray. I was worried about it's toxicity. I had only bought red, yellow, blue and black. The primary colors did not allow me to get the vibrant jewel tone results that I adore. But I was young and even more of a risk taker. I am so glad you had a fun "play". I adore your videos, but I know your schedule is a packed as mine is since school has started back. Happy creative thoughts to you. Have a great school year.

Great video! Have you tried this with 3D objects like a vase or wood? Also, did you prep the papers with alum before dipping? I wish there were a way to use the acrylic craft paints I already have, the last thing i need in my stash is another variety of paint! LOL Thanks for the video.

Thank you for watching…. No, I mainly used basic sketch pad paper- and the Deco Art paper but I got the same results with just plain paper or dictionary paper. I know exactly what you mean!!

Is the paint just acrylic? Could I use it on wooden earrings without using the water and medium?

Thanks so much for being here! I believe you have to use the medium and it can be used on wood and such. There is a different medium for fabric. I did not get that one as I knew I would never use it to marble fabric things.

Wow! Fantastic prints. Do you have to change the tray of magic-medium very frequently?

Thanks so much for watching. I used it twice and then disposed it. I had it for about three days and knew I would not have time to print with it anymore. I cant remember the exact lifespan of it once its all mixed…maybe a week or under. So I dumped it after using it that final time. Hope that helps a bit. I appreciate you being here!!❤️❤️❤️
