I love how Jim's expressions went from wonder and excitement to anger and tiredness. You can tell that he's tired and is starting to give up hope, and all he wants to do is save his friends and family.
What I love about this animatic is how it captures the trauma Jim has experienced throughout the show. From nearly loosing his mother when Strickler got stabbed (Long story short the pain he goes through she goes through too) to his friends dying or nearly dieing. Heck, he faces death so many times. The animation perfectly shows it too. The tragic thing is that Jim no longer sees him as himself but as the trollhunter instead, which is shown in Wizards when he was on the bridge in the shadow realm, speaking about protecting the trolls from vile creatures. The very thing that made him decide to become a troll was to become stronger and more agile and to be able to protect the world from Mogana and the evil trolls. It’s pretty sad if you think about all of the suffering he went through because his mom said it best in the show. He should be worrying about girls and grades rather than fighting monsters in a secret society. So seeing the animation catch the fear and depth to these characters is absolutely incredible.
And something that I noticed after rewatching the series for like the 5th time, the trolls never really accepted Jim as the troll hunter until Gunmar returns. It's strange, Jim fought for the trolls but they trolls never really accepted him.
I never realized how learning all of this deceit, experiencing all this trauma, and committing so many mistakes lead him to becoming troll jim, I mean I wasnt a huge fan of the choice when I first saw it but rewatching the series and how it transitioned from happy go lucky adventures to a much more gritty tone made me feel that it was a much better fit than I first expected, and the whole part trill and part human, as Merlin implies, link that would unite the two worlds actually works better than if he stayed a human Trollhunter (thematically speaking) because, even if was for them, he was never one of them, he becoming part troll fills that void that ultimately truly United humans and trolls, but I feel that the whole strength and speed boost was a bit of a flimsy explanation as to why he needed to become part troll
Thematically he became the bridge. But he almost lost himself. That explains in another level why the physical manifestation of his pain in the shadow realm was the never ending bridge, the never ending task of unite and protect both worlds trapped him.

I feel he became troll because- Okay, Claire was at the door right? She said Morgana was free, and that's when Jim knew he had to go into the said water because if he remained human, he wouldn't have been able to stop her. Even though he did become troll, it wasn't him who did it in the end. Morgana broke daylight, and only Toby crushing the Skathe-Hrün kept Morgana in the shadow realm.

I felt like leaving Jim as a troll would have left a sour taste in my mouth as well, bc it would have permanently isolated him from human society and prevented him from enjoying sunlight or food. Him returning to his former self felt like a weight finally being lifted off his shoulders

I'm so glad that the whole tales of arcadia, especially trollhunters, is finally getting the attention it deserves. Its an absolute masterpiece of storytelling and animation in every way, and at first I felt like I was the only one who watched it, most people thought I was weird for loving a "kids" show. Im so happy that there is more now, welcome to troll market!

Me watching this after just finishing Rise of the Titans: "Excuse me, but can we just take a moment to realize that Jim has gone through more shit in a couple of years than some of us do our entire lives? Like, what?" (I know he's a fictional character but still- He's definitely been through the wringer more than once)
Let's do a recap together: First, he found out trolls are real and he took the role of trollhunter without understanding the consequences of that choice. He then got bullied because no one wanted him as the Trollhunter and nearly died on his second night of owning the amulet. He had to fight to the death. His life suffered because he couldn't balance all his responsibilities anymore (and remember how good he was at scheduling his time). He was forced to lie constantly. He was always under attack because he lived outside the safe zone because he had no choice. Other Trollhunters trained inside Trollmarket where there was only minor stuff to worry about, leaving only on missions. Jim lived outside in the path of danger and risked his safety just by doing his normal routine. He had to make tough calls that led to people he loved getting hurt. He was attacked by a Troll assassin and almost lost his mother and watched Arrg turn to stone because of Angor. He thought his friend had died because of him. Then right after that i n order to keep a promise he traveled into Troll hell all alone and then got captured and forced to fight to the death regularly. He was pitted against the only person in that place he got along with. He then was arrested not even two weeks after escaping. Then as punishment for going to Troll hell he was thrown into a fear pit that no one else has ever survived, crawled back out, found out his last influential supporter was dead and Gunmar took over Trollmarket. His crush got possessed by an evil sorceress and almost killed him. He was forced into the Shadow Realm to save her. His friend Draal died saving him. Merlin turned him into a troll. He nearly died fighting Gunmar. He was forced to leave his home because of his responsibilities. He left two of his friends behind and his mother. He was impaled by a shard that was slowly killing him. He went back in time, which fortunately halted the shards progress but almost screwed up the entire time line. He was also imprisoned for being a troll. Other trolls ignored and distrusted him. He came back, drove the shard all the way into his chest to save his friends, basically turned fully into a monster and was controlled by evil eldritch beings. He lost his main weapon, the amulet, and also his Troll powers, leaving him weak, vulnerable, and feeling completely helpless to help anyone, even himself. He watched friends die because he could do almost nothing to help. In the end, he won the war, but he lost his best friend in the process. He had to start his journey over at the beginning, knowing he'd remember EVERYTHING, but no one else would. He now presumably has to experience all that trauma again second-hand as Toby is forced to go through all of it. And thats just the main stuff. Theres a lot of little things I missed. He deserves our sympathy.
Absolutely recommend everyone here watch trollhunters, 3 below, then Wizards. Absolute amazing trilogy and beautiful CGI. This animation is incredible, especially that scene with Jim swishing his sword, god I love this series so much and you've done an amazing job on this animation meme! Beautiful! :D

*SPOILER WARNING* explanation for people who dont know whats going on:* Black hair guy is called jim. Jim lake jr. So he was biking to school with his best friend toby. (the guy with brown hair, Jim heard his name being called, in a pile of rocks, and found a amulet. He took it home and started playing around with it because he was curious. it had words around it that he couldn’t understand, but out the the blue it changed, the words were in english, it had the words « for the glory of merlin, daylight is mine to command » jim read it outloud then he got armor and a sword of daylight. He was excite, a day later he told his best friend toby about it and they came to his house. He said the words « for the glory of merlin, daylight is mine to command » and he got into his armor, two « trolls » arrived from his back door one big one and one with four arms and 6 eyes. The big one was called Arrrgghh and one called blinky. They talked and the two trolls explained to him about the amulet. The amulet is very old, and it was made by merlin. the amulet was ONLY passed down to trolls and that he was the first human troll hunter. The amulet was made to protect trolls from bad trolls, goblins, changelings, etc. The trolls lived underground in trollmarket. They had many trollhunters before, one of the best, Khankijar (i think that was his name) he was slayed by the troll named bular, son of gunmar the black. Gunmar the black was this horrible troll who cale from the darklands, led his army of « gumgums » long ago to trry and take the surface land. But a trollhunters, she was a girl, named deya the deliverer banashed him to the darklands centries ago, and now him, strikler (the guy who was shown talking to jim, and then strikler turned into a changeling trying to slay the trollhunter because he worked with bular and gunmar the black) No one nows that jim is the trollhunter except the bad trolls, and the good trolls, and his best friend toby. In one scene where theres a girl staring at jim transform into his armor was a girl jim liked, who figured out he was the trollhunter and helped him, since in one battle, she found the shadow staff, who used to be claimed by morgana, the sorceress of shadows, she was banashed by merlin, and somehow she could control claire, (the girl jim liked) because claire mastered the shadow staff, it was a whole thing but morgana helped gunmar the black unleash the internal night. Since trolls cant go in the daylight, or they will turn to stone. Before that, jim and his friends go to merlins (the creator of the amulet) cave find merlin, the merlin wakes up, goes to jims house. and at the end where there was a jar of green thing and then a dark bubble thing, It was a formula to turn jim into a troll, well half troll, then, he goes and defeats the bad trolls and stuff, strikler the changeling, at this point went on the trollhunters side, the parents of claire, toby, and jim, new about this whole thing, so did all the humans in arcadia, the town they live in, and at the end strikler and jim the trollhunters mom get together, jim claire and blinky, left to find a new place for the trolls to live in, (new jersey), and left toby, aarrrgggh, his mom, and his friends, but they all understood. Boom that was the end of the series one, there a whole collection on netflix about another series about after the trollhunter left, they found merlin and his sorcerer student, who weve seen twice in the series flittering with claire (jils girlfriend) the boy was suppose to be a college boy, but since hes a sorcerer, he was centries old. BOOM i left out a lot of details but put the most important ones. sorry bout the grammar mistakes but i waster a good amount of time writting this. please like so others can see. ✨

This right here is the video that got me into Trollhunters. I love watching Nightrizer's animation memes, especially the warrior cat ones. I saw this one and thought it was pretty epic, so I gave it a peek. I then shared it to my Warriors friends, who recommended I watched the show. I did that, I joined a server dedicated to it, I started making characters and storylines... and one year later, I am still OBSESSED with this show, thanks to Nightrizer's animation! Thank you Nightrizer, you are incredible
This absolutely gorgeous animation made me realize through how much Jim has really went through. It's sometimes so easy to forget, because of how naturally optimistic he is and how he hides all this trauma and pain. And even though he was betrayed, hurt and almost killed so many times, he still keeps fighting. This video took me on a spiritual journey and made me a more complete alien being.
I've been so excited for Wizards and seeing this has just made me even MORE excited. It's amazing how much plot you were able to convey in just a two minute video, not to mention how fluid your animation is. The sword swinging and the squishy facial expressions are especially impressive!! Thank you for creating content for this series, this genuinely made my whole day to see someone who appreciates the characters enough to animate them

I'm so glad that the whole tales of arcadia, especially trollhunters, is finally getting the attention it deserves. Its an absolute masterpiece of storytelling and animation in every way, and at first I felt like I was the only one who watched it, most people thought I was weird for loving a "kids" show. Im so happy that there is more now, welcome to troll market!

Me watching this after just finishing Rise of the Titans: "Excuse me, but can we just take a moment to realize that Jim has gone through more shit in a couple of years than some of us do our entire lives? Like, what?" (I know he's a fictional character but still- He's definitely been through the wringer more than once)
Let's do a recap together:
First, he found out trolls are real and he took the role of trollhunter without understanding the consequences of that choice. He then got bullied because no one wanted him as the Trollhunter and nearly died on his second night of owning the amulet. He had to fight to the death. His life suffered because he couldn't balance all his responsibilities anymore (and remember how good he was at scheduling his time). He was forced to lie constantly. He was always under attack because he lived outside the safe zone because he had no choice. Other Trollhunters trained inside Trollmarket where there was only minor stuff to worry about, leaving only on missions. Jim lived outside in the path of danger and risked his safety just by doing his normal routine. He had to make tough calls that led to people he loved getting hurt. He was attacked by a Troll assassin and almost lost his mother and watched Arrg turn to stone because of Angor. He thought his friend had died because of him. Then right after that i n order to keep a promise he traveled into Troll hell all alone and then got captured and forced to fight to the death regularly. He was pitted against the only person in that place he got along with. He then was arrested not even two weeks after escaping. Then as punishment for going to Troll hell he was thrown into a fear pit that no one else has ever survived, crawled back out, found out his last influential supporter was dead and Gunmar took over Trollmarket. His crush got possessed by an evil sorceress and almost killed him. He was forced into the Shadow Realm to save her. His friend Draal died saving him. Merlin turned him into a troll. He nearly died fighting Gunmar. He was forced to leave his home because of his responsibilities. He left two of his friends behind and his mother. He was impaled by a shard that was slowly killing him. He went back in time, which fortunately halted the shards progress but almost screwed up the entire time line. He was also imprisoned for being a troll. Other trolls ignored and distrusted him. He came back, drove the shard all the way into his chest to save his friends, basically turned fully into a monster and was controlled by evil eldritch beings. He lost his main weapon, the amulet, and also his Troll powers, leaving him weak, vulnerable, and feeling completely helpless to help anyone, even himself. He watched friends die because he could do almost nothing to help. In the end, he won the war, but he lost his best friend in the process. He had to start his journey over at the beginning, knowing he'd remember EVERYTHING, but no one else would. He now presumably has to experience all that trauma again second-hand as Toby is forced to go through all of it. And thats just the main stuff. Theres a lot of little things I missed. He deserves our sympathy.

explanation for people who dont know whats going on:* Black hair guy is called jim. Jim lake jr. So he was biking to school with his best friend toby. (the guy with brown hair, Jim heard his name being called, in a pile of rocks, and found a amulet. He took it home and started playing around with it because he was curious. it had words around it that he couldn’t understand, but out the the blue it changed, the words were in english, it had the words « for the glory of merlin, daylight is mine to command » jim read it outloud then he got armor and a sword of daylight. He was excite, a day later he told his best friend toby about it and they came to his house. He said the words « for the glory of merlin, daylight is mine to command » and he got into his armor, two « trolls » arrived from his back door one big one and one with four arms and 6 eyes. The big one was called Arrrgghh and one called blinky. They talked and the two trolls explained to him about the amulet. The amulet is very old, and it was made by merlin. the amulet was ONLY passed down to trolls and that he was the first human troll hunter. The amulet was made to protect trolls from bad trolls, goblins, changelings, etc. The trolls lived underground in trollmarket. They had many trollhunters before, one of the best, Khankijar (i think that was his name) he was slayed by the troll named bular, son of gunmar the black. Gunmar the black was this horrible troll who cale from the darklands, led his army of « gumgums » long ago to trry and take the surface land. But a trollhunters, she was a girl, named deya the deliverer banashed him to the darklands centries ago, and now him, strikler (the guy who was shown talking to jim, and then strikler turned into a changeling trying to slay the trollhunter because he worked with bular and gunmar the black) No one nows that jim is the trollhunter except the bad trolls, and the good trolls, and his best friend toby. In one scene where theres a girl staring at jim transform into his armor was a girl jim liked, who figured out he was the trollhunter and helped him, since in one battle, she found the shadow staff, who used to be claimed by morgana, the sorceress of shadows, she was banashed by merlin, and somehow she could control claire, (the girl jim liked) because claire mastered the shadow staff, it was a whole thing but morgana helped gunmar the black unleash the internal night. Since trolls cant go in the daylight, or they will turn to stone. Before that, jim and his friends go to merlins (the creator of the amulet) cave find merlin, the merlin wakes up, goes to jims house. and at the end where there was a jar of green thing and then a dark bubble thing, It was a formula to turn jim into a troll, well half troll, then, he goes and defeats the bad trolls and stuff, strikler the changeling, at this point went on the trollhunters side, the parents of claire, toby, and jim, new about this whole thing, so did all the humans in arcadia, the town they live in, and at the end strikler and jim the trollhunters mom get together, jim claire and blinky, left to find a new place for the trolls to live in, (new jersey), and left toby, aarrrgggh, his mom, and his friends, but they all understood. Boom that was the end of the series one, there a whole collection on netflix about another series about after the trollhunter left, they found merlin and his sorcerer student, who weve seen twice in the series flittering with claire (jils girlfriend) the boy was suppose to be a college boy, but since hes a sorcerer, he was centries old. BOOM i left out a lot of details but put the most important ones. sorry bout the grammar mistakes but i waster a good amount of time writting this. please like so others can see. ✨

I then shared it to my Warriors friends, who recommended I watched the show. I did that, I joined a server dedicated to it, I started making characters and storylines... and one year later, I am still OBSESSED with this show, thanks to Nightrizer's animation! Thank you Nightrizer, you are incredible
This absolutely gorgeous animation made me realize through how much Jim has really went through. It's sometimes so easy to forget, because of how naturally optimistic he is and how he hides all this trauma and pain. And even though he was betrayed, hurt and almost killed so many times, he still keeps fighting. This video took me on a spiritual journey and made me a more complete alien being.

This is an absolute masterpiece. My jaw was hanging open the entire time. That took me on an emotional journey. Currently on my second rewatch of TOA and omg this has really stirred the passion within me to keep going. You have captured all that is amazing about the show in this animation. The fact that Jim goes from wonder and excitement to more serious and tired...hits me right in the heart.

This is a true masterpiece, thank you so much for bringing it into the world!!!! This is my favorite show and it lacks fan content big time. It’s just so incredibly underrated that I never expected such a wonderful video like this to be made. Thank you a thousand times over for all the hard work you put into this!!!!!
Oh my gosh I used to love Trollhunters! I used to watch it back during quarantine when I had nothing else to do. I am so glad this showed up on my recommendations, even if it was 3 whole years late
