This is an amazing effort and program to honor USA Veterans, by providing such a unique program. My wife and I had our first ever Cruise onboard NCL VIVA Apr 2024 in the Caribbean. When a cruise officer found out I was a Canadian Forces Veteran, retired Captain with PTSD and other disabilities from service he invited me to the veterans appreciation night event onboard. My wife and I went to this event although it is only currently available to USA veterans at the time of our cruise. It was heartfelt and Ment a lot to me. I proudly served my Country as a veteran with 43 years of combined service retired Captain, CD and Memorial Silver Cross Recipient…Thank you. P.S. Photos were taken with the Captain of the Ship with each veteran and our cabin number taken by the cruise director, how can I obtain a copy and will NCL be offering Canadian Forces Veterans such as myself, something similar in the future. The cruise, the staff, the men and women officers were stellar in their duties, commitment and professionalism. BZ from this Veteran and yes my wife and I have signed up for further adventures onboard the VIVa in EU for 2025. Cheers from : Captain retired, Patrick Ryan, CD., Memorial Silver Cross. Thanks for honoring Veterans. I really enjoyed getting my "orders" on my last cruise. Look forward to hopefully getting all the patches from the different ships. Really enjoy the discount as well. Thanks NCL!!
Thank you for what I think is the greatest military appreciation program on the seas. I sailed on the first Viva cruise in August and the savings and recognition I (and my family) received was really unexpected and put my trip over the top. I have booked my next 2 NCL cruises on the back of this and my experience on that ship. Thank you for this program.
My husband was overwhelmed by the recognition he received on our recent cruise. I made a post on a Facebook group thanking NCL. One comment caught me off guard. The honors are only for one veteran per cabin. Then I remembered that I met a few couples who were both veterans and only one received recognition. I understand the limit for the reception, but the other honorifics should apply to both IMHO. The following quote is from the commenter on FB. "I was recognized too....but..... my wife is a veteran also and she is totally ignored. I asked 3 different areas why and got stupid replys..reply... nobody wants to give her the recognition she deserves...only 1 per room....." This is not a complaint, we are extremely grateful for all that NCL has done for veterans. Thank you!
My wife is also a Veteran as well with both of us serving 22 years in the Navy. I hope they change this policy as I won’t participate without my wife. She deserves the recognition as well.
Will you be expanding it to recognize military service in Canada?
