Wow what a first game! Gotta love those crazy comebacks, sometimes just having the mental fortitude to push through and not concede will give you the opportunity to comeback. btw you are the only mtg arena i watch now!
Hey man, absolutely agree and I think there's no other video that will showcase it as well as today's video (orzhov Breach) - I still work on my anti-concede game 😂🔥 PS. Thanks man, that's huge for me!:))
that is the kind of play i expected to happen and a reguilar basis when i started playing magic. sadly it is pretty basic. always happy when i can find a deck where u acutally can make some plays.
Always enjoy the Planeswalker decks. I’ve tried it for a while today and I’m having great success so far! It does really well against just about any deck! Planeswalkers are just so fun to play!
Thanks to the dragon deck you showcased the other day I tried to go back in standard (was disgusted by aggro a month ago) and it was very cool. Thanks ;)
Negate is one of best cards in the deck, and we only have 1. Not wasting it on something that can be handled differently - negate is basically a wincon when cast at right turn. Generally you counter only things that you can't deal with otherwise - it's most premium card you have (especially now, as nobody plays any counterspells nearly)
That first game was almost 30 minutes of insanity. You drew exactly what you needed when you needed it. If I can crack a Teferi, Temporal Pilgrim, I'm building this. Thank you again for another wonderful session of content! 🖤🦥
it's so bad - i just keep telling myself that we do need aggro to keep control at bay because I'd rather face aggro than have aggressively sweaty control marathons
Hey bro, im subed like for 2 months now and im realy enjoying your content. Thought i would never find another content creator after being a CGB fan for 4 years straight but here i am. I was wondering what country you are from? You have this Mediterranean accent like from the balkans or something. Just wondering. 😅
Hey Bro - I'm super honored to hear this! As a long-time CGB lurker myself - even more :) I'm from Poland, so yeah, accent is easily distinguishable😂❤🦥 Thanks for comment man, appreciate it and hope you will enjoy the content for a long time!:)
Really? She is basically a game closer that most decks cannot answer in their whole deck, giving you either a game winning value - or direct burn. Imho, Kaya might be the strongest planeswalker in standard - only problem is not dying before casting her :)
Hi Sloth i love your control deck but it is wrong to have as backup e few field of ruin? And second question i struggle with Mono red if i dont pick sunset or elspeth smit at the beginning what you do think about aggro decks how powerful is this deck really?
Field of ruins are absolutely fine - It's my personal preference that I usually don't run them in esper decks (mostly because they are bad vs mono red, and I hate losing this matchup due to manabase). All decks in tier 1 are still aggro I believe, except classic Azorius Control that we covered plenty of times ;) Azorius is best for laddering
4xSunset Revelry? I always found this card being a dead card in most situation. I'd only keep 1 or 2 and replace with Soul partition or Get lost (or any 2 mana Instant spell).
It's a tribute to the metagame. You have 2 Celestus to cycle them if they're completely useless. They're great to force the opponent to overextend into your Sunfall. I'm pretty sure you will hate them only against Jace mill decks and Domain. If you cut some, put some counterspells instead (in my opinion)
4x Sunset let's you go into more of a sunfall+mid/endgame plan, without having autolose vs tier 1 aggro horde ;) Assumption is "I don't die, you need to play actual game now" 🤷♂️🦥
Key words being "once you have them on the board", Standard is also missing an "elderspell" but Rakdos decks in standard have two sweepers that hits all planes walkers, one hits them for 3 the other for 5. The breach the multiverse / Etali decks are quite rampant in ranked standard as well and before you know if you have 2 of your own planeswalkers on the board only not under your control.
This is a survive to 5 mana deck, and I've been running in lots of Breach the multiverse / Etali decks which pop off at 6 mana which they easily get. If you face one of those and they pop a big score on turn 4 along with things like Celestus etc ... its difficult to recover. I've been working on a very defensive deck with mill as the main win condition using Jace and Breach the multiverse because well ... I'm not a follow the meta guy :p
This deck is not good if you want to win in the current ranked meta, as my 40% win-rate will attest to over 20 games. The big decks have a very good matchup with this as the Walkers are not really good enough compared to what they ramp to, and you depend a lot on luck in your hand to deal with aggro and dinos. Fun, but a no go if you want to win in ranked. You have decent matchups against G/B and mono black for the most part. I think it's a bit spread to thin with the Walkers, which can clog your hand early and offer no real "get out of jail for free card" if you are behind.
@@ThatoneGuy-zd4rl Not all the time thanks to Cavern of Souls, which I run into far too often in ramp and human decks. Maybe if you're at Mythic you can have fun with this, but don't try it down in the ladder.
Nah, the same one, but it might sound differently depending on how I sit :P😂🦥 One of the reasons I can't record while being slouched back on the chair🤷♂️

That's amazing man, great to hear!:) Dragons are definitely someting that standard could use, this shell is really cool :)
wow. that first game against monowhite was insane. very nice win on that one.
Why didn't you negate the wedding? It would've made the win so much easier for you.
Thanks man!:)

Indeed, lately we have been blessed with some true games of madness - but those are the ones that are remembered!:) Hf and glad you liked it man!:)
Always love a good planeswalker deck! 😀 I've been playing an esper walker deck w/ The Enigma Jewel, one of my new favorites!
Sloth, enjoyed your games and content... you and CGB definitely my 2 favorite.
Hi. I love planeswalker decks! Thanks for showing off this one❤
My pleasure man, glad you enjoyed it!:)❤
Oh Lord, these mono-red players... Attacking face or the blue-white bald guy in the right corner. Nah, face.
it's so bad - i just keep telling myself that we do need aggro to keep control at bay because I'd rather face aggro than have aggressively sweaty control marathons
Numbers goes down, but then...... number goes.. Up?! Game bugged, quit.

Indeed, but wait until you see today's one 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🦥
Kaya feels incredibly weak for 7 mana. The plus 2 is great, but the ult and +0 feel super weak for a 7 mana planeswalker.

Your commentary on mono red at the end there... lol.
I have a strong opinion 😂🤷♂️❤🦥
Love the content. Great teaching videos. What's that accent? Thanks again!
Holy !!!! That first game bro 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘❤️

Grreat games Sloth
I have to incorporate combos if I am running aggro. Like running boros counter with Citywide Bust and Path of Mettle for spice.

3 or 4 is perfect against aggro though

@@SlothMtg 4 allows you to slap monored in the face so they scoop and you can go play an actual magic game :p
I feel the next farewell they make will add planeswalkers to them. Super Frieds is super powerful once you have a couple on board.

Esper Superfriends is like sooo cool but i really wouldn't like to play against it
True that, when you see those planeswalkers activations, more and more cards in hand - you know it will end bad for you (as opponent) :)
at least you can play still vs getting your hand discarded/stolen or having everything countered with azorius grindlords
