"considering what I did to it" That was pretty good. How would you make it differently next time? I like how you are not stuck, you come up with a solution.
I considered this myself, but I only owned two cars with two barrels and found air cleaners that were the same style but were four barrels, so I never had to. I wonder if using a generic air cleaner base and cutting out a 12 inch round section of the two barrel an welding the generic base would do the job. For the older Mopar air cleaners where the sidewall is on the lid instead of the base, I bet you could just put on the chrome base on the bottom. Those old 1970's style chrome air cleaners don't go for much at a swap meet. Ten dollars max. Maybe half that for just a base.
I had found four barrel air cleaners cheap when I had done other 4 barrels swaps but lately the only ones I see are overpriced and I haven't found any in the junkyard. So this was a quick and easy way to go.

@@LongIslandMopars Yes I can flip the lid and I'm pretty sure the snorkel is about the same size either way. I guess I can hammer it smaller again for a 2bbl 😂
I like this type of thinking.....
A little bit of creativity and recycling
Great idea with the stainless ring.
I have a few of those headlight rings laying around. I just had to make it a little smaller.
Pretty cool stuff!
Sometimes you just need to make it work.

I suppose I could have welded a metal ring in the bottom but that headlight ring was very close to what I needed.

😁👍
I have the adapters. Works OK if ya have hood clearance.
That might have made it to high.

@@DougsterWolverineGarage As long as they work
Now that's using the noggin ,,pretty slick Nathan 👍 👍
It's not easy to find an original one anymore. I figured it was easier to make it work.
That worked out really good Nathan, never would have thought to use the headlight ring.
It turned out better than I thought. That ring worked out better than trying to bend a new lip on the bottom.

I would have just found a four barrel air cleaner. You can trip over them fairly easily at most yards, even some 40+ years later.
