The best thing to come out of having a channel for me is all the friends I’ve made. I’m not trying to be negative but it does get tedious with channels just throwing so much out there that it gets impossible to keep up with because I try to support friends. Nicely done video!

Hi Tommy, when I started doing this now about 3 years ago it was for fun. The bonus is the friends I've made so I consider the venture a success!

Interesting reflections, Tommy. Being new to the vc, I’m just kind of exploring what directions I can take my channel in at the moment. I’ve also found the videos that I’ve enjoyed making the most have had the lowest view count. Hey ho, like you say it’s all about the music. Thanks! And welcome! I have always maintained that if you are pursuing numbers, you will most likely get frustrated. So, just do what you want. Hopefully, your people will find you.
I’m conflicted about showing videos. I don’t think it’s narcissistic, but I admit to feeling pretty materialistic about my collection. I mean it is stuff and I have quite a bit of that vinyl stuff. The realization of having the ability to have these albums is a privilege that I feel funny bragging about…so I don’t put out a lot of videos and I frequently take videos down. I don’t want people to feel in any way inferior. I just like physical media and like talking about it. Thanks for the thought provoking video. Yeah, I don’t have time for all the editing either. I do enjoy the videos from the stores. Cheers.

I enjoy channels like yours when it's about the music and making suggestions on things you like. I unsubcribed to a lot of people because it seemed like they would just do things for views to get content out for subscribers

I read at alot of different vinyl video's and have vinyl, cds,cassettes, r to r,and stereo equipment I watch them because I enjoy, hearing others opinions on anything to do with audio stuff.There are alot of people here ,who do this for profit .I really don't care .I like seeing the collections and audio equipment. Keep it up ...

Man, this was so well said. It comes down to doing the content you want to do, even if it doesn't grab a mass audience. I could talk Monkees or Petty every video but I'd get bored. I really liked this a lot. Thanks for the kind words too, you're the best.

I’m a VC leader. In my own mind. 😂 Seriously, like you said if you are enjoying making videos then that’s all that matters. I rarely make videos anymore but, when the mood strikes I hit record. If a few people watch or comment than it’s a win. Good to see ya Tommy! ✌️

I really don't think there is any formula for growing a channel. I've done a video per week on average for the last few years but I would say my channel peaked several years ago and has been in decline or at least in stasis for quite a while.
I forgot you mentioned Steve Carlson,now he has showed me some crazy good and different stuff.Not run of the mill what so ever.....
He's good people. He's also really good at showing people stuff that may be out of their comfort zones.
Hello Tommy; We are not into Leaders, Gurus, Divas, Tsar's, Royalty in the Vinyl Community. The VC is an open forum for anyone who wishes to be involved either by making videos or commenting on them. It's not content creation ( Hollywood type intros, wearing weird clothing ) it's the content itself. Is the video informative, interesting, educational or just plain boring ( useless information, rants ) & not worth ones time to watch. Good videos. Keep them coming. Take care, Tina & Pat!~

I've watched three of these videos about the "leader," and I still have no idea who it is. Obviously, I do not watch this person's channel 🙂
To be honest, I don't think any of us do. Her stuff is very well researched and produced. But she doesn't offer anything substantial as far as deep dives or thought-provoking discussion. They're just little critical documentaries. At least the stuff I've seen is.
