- Hello Family! I had so much fun making this super cheap and easy designer DIY books! Can you believe these books were from the dollar tree? I love the look of designer books in home as it adds a touch of elegance and glam. However $50.00 a book is quite expensive (to me at least)! Some of my textbooks in college cost that much, but I actually had to read them lol so buying books that expensive to lay around my house, is not worth it, so of course I had to make it! This was really easy and cheap to do and absolutely love how this turned out! What do you think? Do you think it looks pretty close to the real thing?

Another option is to cut out the full length of the 'spine of the book', plus enough to tuck in at the ends, then glue it on, that will eliminate any join marks. Thanks for this video! I just saw something similar on instagram and she paid $55 each for her fake books!!!

Best video on UA-cam 😂 Yours are amazing! I was trying to find some and couldn’t bare to pay £50 for something I’ll just look at! I’ve just tried it out but I don’t have a printer at the moment so had to trace the logo and letters from my phone, it’s not perfect but very happy as it’s my first attempt. Thank you for making me realise it isn’t impossible to make them yourself and without looking tacky! X

Much easier (and if you like the book actually) just covered the book in (glossy) paper. And then put on the names, designs and logos. If you want to change that later. No problem, just switch the whole cover.

I did this but just ended up flipping the book cover over to have the white, cause I'm crap at painting and would have gotten it everywhere lol

I'm sorry but if I was dating a chic and i went to her house and saw these ''designer'' books and picked them up to have see painted books with the brand names copied & pasted - printed - cut out & stuck on them I would literally bolt out of the door.
Come on girl....you either work hard and live the glam life or not be in it at all.
Like.....designer coffee table books are less than £50...i think the massive Tom Ford is £54 which aint that bad considering the size and what you get......you could easily buy 5 or 6 books in 12 months if you wanted to. Being creative is one thing...like making the glamour book was fab! replicating designer things..lol shitttttt. I hope you don't stick designer labels in the soles of your heels and inside of your clothes/bags lol Do yourself a favour....buy the real deal and you won't be disappointed in what you get for your money. I bought the Chanel book for £7 from TK Maxx (TJ Hughes) RRP was £42.
