I totally understand why he’d feel that way. A wife and mil should be two women in his corner but one stole from him and the others not only sanctions the abuse but abuses him too. I think it was more of a tonal issue. The way he just threw it in there where it didn't belong made it feel weird. At first reading it almost sounded like a "wow, women lawyers actually ARE good!" type of demeaning statement, but the rest of his posts don't sound like that, so I don't think it was his intention. It just stuck out badly enough to get people's focus. If he didnt make that call, then the MIL would have caused more grief and eventually death/injury to several nearby neighbors.
