When I was approached by a band member from 1996 to do Nightrain I was a bit dubious. Then I checked out their own cover of it I was blown away and couldn't believe they were letting me use this sexy instrumental. I hope you jerks go over there and pay them some respect and give them thanks in my honor. Tell them Juan sent you, and they'll ask "which one" and everyone has a laugh and I die a bit inside.

Thanks my friend. I guess sometimes I try too hard to imitate that studio doubling effect and end up layering way too much. Also some it is just plain insecurity. I'm trying to do that less since this vid since I felt it was the one that suffered most. The Sweet Child vid was literally one vocal one take, then after that i started trying to snazz it up and sometimes just like you I think maybe I don't need all that. Hey, Axl Rose apparently is leaving GNR for ACDC..... GNR needs this guy.
They needed a front man, but Axl still "owns" GnR. That said, apparently Slash and Duff are returning.
He's not leaving GnR, he's just the replacement vocalist for AC/DC. Guess we'll have to deal with the fact that there can't be an AC/DC and Gnr tour at the same time

Juan, I know you said you mainly practiced by yourself, but I can see you raising your arms when you want to control the higher pitches - that's an actual technique taught in vocal development courses.

@k9taxi Depends how complex the song or the lyrics. For this one the non high pitch parts I did in two takes and just chose the best one. The rest of the time it was just the multiple layered vocals I chose for the chorus. It's particularly hard if there's one note I really want to hit or a certain effect I want to create for example Master Exploder that first part the oooooooooooooooooooooAAAAAAaaaaaaa I must have done over and over at least 20 times. I will usually do multiple takes anyway...

Dude! This is the only song by G&R that I LOVE 100%. Slash has always been a great player, but usually Axl would screw up a song by singing over the music. But you, YOU nailed this even better than Axl ever dreamt of. Smokin'!!!!

Jaun, I think you do GNR and other covers pretty good. I think it's time for you to step up and do some original material. Don't just copy other artist but show everyone the artist you really are.
There's tons of original work on this channel and outside of it but it is evident the G n' R is what attracts the people :) I am okay with this
+Juan The Beast have you had any vocal training because I was to the guns n roses stuff you're spot on and even to Nazareth it's great I think you should cover Nazareth hair of a dog like GNR dead does he have the perfect voice for it that raspy voice is awesome I also enjoyed you're Manowar cover of power keep the videos, I really enjoy them I'm sharing them with friends because they're just draw dropping
