I haven't seen these commercials since I was a kid but watching them now just brings it all back. Some of them I even remember pretty much word for word. Awesome memories :)
Great post. I remember these commercials like yesterday as my tv stayed either on Nickelodeon or MTV/BET/VH-1. I had a Doug VHS tape but lost it :-( These commercials makes me glad to have been a 90's kid!
I live that way now man. I got a 96 comp in my room, stuff from the 80's and 90's all over the room. I watch 80's and 90's stuff, listen to that music all the time. So dude, I havent got sick of it for decades, ain't ever gonna sick of it.
@CaptainAshSpearow The method employed in Alvin In The Chipmunks was to raise the pitch universally. Auto-tune slightly raises or lowers the pitch of individual notes. They're not the same thing and are employed very differently.
omg when I was a kid I use to sing 'Uptown girl' and then go into 'dooo you love me'... ahhhh! hahahaha my brain recognized the commercial right away and started singing uptown girl, do you love me....
I will say this. The 80's was the most amazing decade for so many reasons, but the 90's, will always be the era where it was greatest to be a kid or even a teen. I miss the 80's and 90's. Things today just no longer compare. I was even fond of tracking, low quality videos, jumping scenes, cause heck the VCR was amazing. 90's ftw!
Was Fruit by the Foot gummy like Bubble Tape or plastic like Fruit Roll-Ups? More importantly, could ICS prepare you to repair that crazy VCR in the Nick Tapes spot?
Oh my goodness! I was 5 years old when I watched these, and I remember every single one of them. I remember being super hyped about the Tom & Jerry movie since they talked! I surprisingly liked the movie ok but I think it would've been better if it weren't a musical.
Lol i showed these to my kids who are 9 and 7 and i was like gahhh not the sally commercial! I also confused them when i said i wish i could fix the tracking! I had to explain it to them. I sang along to most of the commercials ( guess who! Fave game ever as a kid!) Anyway at the end they said lame and walked away. I have failed as a parent. *facepalms*
I miss Doug, Netflix should add them to the collection. I hate all these cartoons nowadays, they absolutely suck for my kid, no morals or lessons at all!
``Faces do not actually talk'' lol. Funny when I was a kid , I literally thought they would come alive and talk to me. Kinda creepy to me , but I always wanted to play that game in 2nd grade.
DROOPY!!! I loved Droopy i remember that Cocoa Krispies jingle, pretty catchy i remember memorizing the ICS ads they were on so often back then. "get your diploma or your degree" aren't those the same thing? i wonder if Nickelodean trademarked that color of orange cocoa krispies vs. cocoa pebbles? who's gonna win? I LOVED "Hey Dude." i remember thinking it weird that they had a girl named "brad." that and "Salute your Shorts" were the best "LSD not included" LOL
0:00--I have to admit that I haven't seen that Tom & Jerry movie, but the original T & J cartoons are airing on Me TV since January 2021. I believe Henry Mancini died shortly after this, so that must have been one of the last films that he scored. 0:29--Whether or not you like chocolate-flavored cereal, how can you not love that reggae-flavored jingle? 1:00--Sally Struthers--probably best know for her role as Gloria on "All In the Family." If you get Get TV (it is available over the air in many parts of the country), they are currently rerunning that show. 2:11--There seems to be a theme of chocolate-flavored cereals here. 3:41--I personally can live without "Achy Breaky Heart," but I'd love to hear the Chipmunks' renditions of most of those other songs!
Have Fruit by the Foot always had the paper on the rolls? I seem to remember eating them without unfurling them when I was young. I mean, I've eaten a lot of paper in my time, but I prefer to do that when I'm consciously aware of it.
I hated that damn Sally Struthers career commercial when I was a kid. They played it during every commercial break. It made me laugh though when I saw it in this video.
a degree in VCR repair? seriously??? i learned that shit in the garage and put so many mom and pop stores outta business with cheap house visits lol and that was just a hobby!!!
I hated how certain dolls/little girl toys always had those weird creepy songs in the commercial sung by a little girl. And now they seem even creepier.
Dude, comps existed, net existed, just gotta roll with the flow, but live when it was best. I am thinkin bout gettin a nice vcr and a casette deck sometime again
Haha, Guess Who. I used to play that with my cousin back in the day. I remember they had to change the commercial to mention that "cards do not actually talk" after parents complained to the company.
@ComedianDivo1 I know what you mean... I was 11. I somehow keep finding myself watching all this 80's and 90's crap on here. Everytime I keep yelling at the top of my lings I want a time machine to go back to the 80's
TV and VCR repair as a career? Good thing that even when you look back and sometimes want the past, there really are some things that are better dead..... VCR repair... OMG.
No I literally wish the world was in a perpetual repeat of the 80's and 90's and over and over again lol seriously, it's not as much being young it's being in that time, america, the world, everything was a lot better
You don't actually miss the '90s, you miss being young. It happens to every generation. Even now, sixteen-year olds are looking back fondly on the Playstation 2 "era". But yeah, I hear you! The commercials especially made it seem like kids ruled the world in the early half.
Maybe you're right. I kind of agree. But doesn't the world seem to suck a little more each year? Strange coincidence. If I remember your username in twenty years, I'll give you a shout on whatever people shout on by then (Wristwatches? Roofs?) and we can look back on how cool UA-cam was before the mutants bought it. Till then, enjoy the commercials!
I'm really glad I got my degree in VCR repair. Thanks ICS!
Pete & Pete and Hey Dude were always worth watching.
I live that way now man. I got a 96 comp in my room, stuff from the 80's and 90's all over the room. I watch 80's and 90's stuff, listen to that music all the time. So dude, I havent got sick of it for decades, ain't ever gonna sick of it.
Few videos make me smile the entire time, and this was one of them!
@CaptainAshSpearow The method employed in Alvin In The Chipmunks was to raise the pitch universally. Auto-tune slightly raises or lowers the pitch of individual notes. They're not the same thing and are employed very differently.
I remember that Tom & Jerry movie. It wasn't delightful fun for anyone.
I like Tom and Jerry The Movie as well
1:23 A degree in TV/VCR repair? Thanks to flatscreen and blu-ray, that degree is obsolete. :) Man, I remember these ads like they were yesterday.
I totally remembered that Alvin and the Chipmunks CD ad, too. I remembered the song clips without even remembering that it was A&C.
"Game cards do not actually talk."
Unless you're playing Guess Who while on LSD or something. lol
"Game cards do not actually talk. But if they do, you have a f***ing drug problem."
omg when I was a kid I use to sing 'Uptown girl' and then go into 'dooo you love me'... ahhhh! hahahaha my brain recognized the commercial right away and started singing uptown girl, do you love me....
I WISH Alvin and the Chipmunks and NOT a real person was responsible for 'Achey Breaky Heart.' XD
Hahaha "Actual Game Pieces do not talk" XD 8:12
Thats man, for recording these memerable commercials that would of been long forgoten.
90's ftw!
Man, I never noticed how much commercial voice over work Billy West did until now.
man talk about flashing back to the 90's here.....kept wanting to reach over and adjust the tracking, then i remembered im watching this online lol
I remember that Alvin And The Chipmunks commercial. I use to sing along.
"and because alvin looks great in trunks" lmfaaaaoooo
I remember most of these commericals...awesome
Whoever went for the TC/VCR Repair degree must be making bank now days.
You now what I learned from cereal commercials? You should never share with anyone....yup...that’s what I learned
"Hey Dude."
I remember hating that show passionatey.
I remember seeing that Sally Struthers commercial playing all the time.
Back when Doug was Nickelodeon XD.
Good times
:D
Didn't know alvin and the chipmunks existed before the CGI animation :D
Holy crap I just recited that entire ICS Institute commercial from memory and haven't seen that freaking commercial in nearly 20 years...
i remembered all these commercials watching nickelodeon, especially sally struthers.
*facepalms*
They just don't understand our nostalgia. They're the iGeneration; we're the Millenials.
Don’t completely give up hope, take it little by little. Let them figure stuff out on their own. Trust me, they’ll get it.
3:40 What's weird to me is that they made a Weird Writers costume just for one second of a one-time ad that would never be used again.
I miss Doug, Netflix should add them to the collection. I hate all these cartoons nowadays, they absolutely suck for my kid, no morals or lessons at all!
@dRsNiPEs101 I suggest looking up what a bookkeeper actually does. It's probably not what you think it is.
Sounds like Billy West announced the Nick Videos commercial
``Faces do not actually talk'' lol. Funny when I was a kid , I literally thought they would come alive and talk to me. Kinda creepy to me , but I always wanted to play that game in 2nd grade.
I still have a few of those Wendy's Weird Writers somewhere...
I feel bad for the suckers that went for VCR repair.
These were such good days. *sigh* Where has the time gone?
@JackleTheMantle I started eating those when they first came out and yes, they always had paper on the rolls.
Hey Dude! I've been trying to remember the name of that show for forever!
I haven't watched the Tom and Jerry movie, But when I heard them talking in the trailer, I'm keeping it that way
I gave my mom my Krystal Princess to keep on her desk at work when I was little.
DROOPY!!! I loved Droopy
i remember that Cocoa Krispies jingle, pretty catchy
i remember memorizing the ICS ads they were on so often back then. "get your diploma or your degree" aren't those the same thing?
i wonder if Nickelodean trademarked that color of orange
cocoa krispies vs. cocoa pebbles? who's gonna win?
I LOVED "Hey Dude." i remember thinking it weird that they had a girl named "brad." that and "Salute your Shorts" were the best
"LSD not included" LOL
Fav'd because it's Vol. 69.
I saw the P.B. Crisps commercial and promptly signed the first online petition I could find to bring them back
Must get cocoa krispies!!! Must get cocoa krispies!!! Must get cocoa krispies!!!
It couldn't handle Sally Struther's face XD
PB Crisps were awesome!!!! They need to make a comeback!
oh how i loved pb crisps as a kid
0:00--I have to admit that I haven't seen that Tom & Jerry movie, but the original T & J cartoons are airing on Me TV since January 2021. I believe Henry Mancini died shortly after this, so that must have been one of the last films that he scored.

Back when Wendy's put decent toys in the kids meals, because I hate the new preschool-oriented I Spy toys they have now.
For some reason, as a kid, I wanted to go to that school. Even at 9 years old, I knew I had no schooling future.
Does the Planters commercial at 6:28 make Mr. Peanut a cannibal?
**neuralyzes everyone so that they don't remember Tom & Jerry The Movie**
FINALLY!!!!! I've been looking for a place to minor in VCR repair! 1:23
6:17
OKAY I GOTTA ADMIT THAT WAS PRETTY GOOD LOL
The kid from the fruit by the foot commercial is the kid from the movie sleepers right?
I think I'm gona go to school for TV/VCR Repair, after all VHS is all the rage now
lol the chip munks 35th birthday party i remember that
Have Fruit by the Foot always had the paper on the rolls? I seem to remember eating them without unfurling them when I was young. I mean, I've eaten a lot of paper in my time, but I prefer to do that when I'm consciously aware of it.
I hated that damn Sally Struthers career commercial when I was a kid. They played it during every commercial break. It made me laugh though when I saw it in this video.
the kid in the fruit by the foot ad is nasty and funny
a degree in VCR repair? seriously??? i learned that shit in the garage and put so many mom and pop stores outta business with cheap house visits lol and that was just a hobby!!!
Alvin and the Chipmunks were the original Auto-Tune.
I hated how certain dolls/little girl toys always had those weird creepy songs in the commercial sung by a little girl. And now they seem even creepier.
What happens to pb crisps from planters?
I find it kinda weird that they replaced the Coco the Monkey mascot w/ Snap, Crackle, & Pop for Cocoa Krispies. o_O
It was like a softer fruit roll-up. Not as tasty, but as 80s Commercial Vault said, you got more out of one snack...
I would totally buy a vcr and those tapes
Cool. Thanks!
Dude, comps existed, net existed, just gotta roll with the flow, but live when it was best. I am thinkin bout gettin a nice vcr and a casette deck sometime again
My Childhood!!!
You would get sick of that so fast after a while.
Haha, Guess Who. I used to play that with my cousin back in the day. I remember they had to change the commercial to mention that "cards do not actually talk" after parents complained to the company.
omg i loved hey dude lol
I uased to love PB Crisps
PB Crisps were the best thing ever.
@ComedianDivo1
I know what you mean...
OMG.
I have no idea, BUT I WANT THEM BACK!!!!
No I literally wish the world was in a perpetual repeat of the 80's and 90's and over and over again lol seriously, it's not as much being young it's being in that time, america, the world, everything was a lot better

why is nick is the only network for becaseb
@80sCommercialVault You see what you're doing to me, 2010s? You're making me wonder what happened!
I can't stop laughing lol hahahahaha too funny
You don't actually miss the '90s, you miss being young. It happens to every generation. Even now, sixteen-year olds are looking back fondly on the Playstation 2 "era". But yeah, I hear you! The commercials especially made it seem like kids ruled the world in the early half.
I miss pb crisp
