I'm not entirely sure, but as I understand, a random trinket in your selection is always discounted.
EDIT: Correction, its probably random, but it definitely doesn't always happen.

U have made huge misplay though, insteaf of putting taunt on highest hp unit , u have done it on highest damage unit. U could sinply outscale him ( and damage would still be the same the only difference extra 160 hp ( STORY with goled poet 320)
