I love how different and yet fundamentally the same their relationship is in both the show and in the books. Their happiness in the midst of all the chaos going on around them is so beautiful in every version. ❤
Tolya being invested in their drama is something I never expected, but I love him for that
I’m respected how they aged up these characters and even added the adult backstory of a one night stand being their first meeting. They are nearly 30, the actors, and having a intimate relationship for that age group is far more appropriate and therefore enjoyable to watch. We can laugh at Wylan literally being like “nah I want sex not breakfast” because we aren’t watching TEENS.
I never read the book before but I can still feel something special from their interaction in the beginning of the season. And when they kiss I was like yassssss!😂
I need to sit down did they actually have a mature, adult, conversation about their feelings and end up with a stronger relationship? This must be one of the signs of the apocalypse.

As a book reader I'm happy they didn't go the slow burn route. I could not have handled waiting another season for them to just kiss, we got fed so much more.
Their relationship is more adult because they’re older in the show, that’s why it feels “rushed”. And it’s still in character for them . People forget it’s implied Wylan hooked up with one of his tutors in the book, he’s not some innocent little virginal kid.

I just realized the first from Wylan was genuine shock and relief because he recognized Jesper. And right after he says "We've..." but then stopped because he didn't think it was worth bringing up old memories.
