    You addressed the exposure, but for off camera flash, could you also address flash placement (angle, distance) and approximate power setting at that distance for a start? I know it might need to be adjusted up/down according to the situation and effect you want, but what's a rough guide to start out?

    Just drawing back to your old days when you had a DSLR, how did you solve problems of focusing would you prefer focusing and recomposing or not?

    • @fjhphoto
      @fjhphoto  Рік тому +1

      Focusing and recomposing sucked.😬
      I'd never go back to doing that. I actually bought a Canon 6D again last year and it has face tracking now. But if it didn't have that feature then yes I would be forced to focus and recompose OR use a focus point on the face to take my photo.

    I had a similar problem . I went out for a photoshoot and it was sunny ☀️ n i used sony a7iii with a godox trigger with godox ad600 . Shooting on manual mode. So when i mounted my trigger on my camera n turn on the trigger it auto changed my settings and my images were to expose. I had to reduce to aperture in other to reduce the amount of light coming into to he sensor but i lost that depth of field. And i didnt enjoy the effect on the flash light d way i expected . What could be the problem boss? Can u help me with some clarifications?

    • @fjhphoto
      @fjhphoto  Рік тому

      You need to leave the transmitter off when adjusting your settings to expose for the photo. Once you like the exposure then you can turn the transmitter on. The screen will not show how the photo will be exposed because you are using flash. The only solution is to take a photo and see how you like it and then make adjustments after.
      If you feel that there is not enough ambient light then you can slow the shutter or raise ISO. This means you will reduce the flash a bit as well. If you feel there is too much ambient light then you do the opposite and lower the ISO or raise the shutter then raise the power of the flash.

    Two questions. Does having the wheels on the c stand help prevent the wind from blowing it over? I see you have the weight on it too but wondering if the wheel help prevent it from tipping since it will roll.
    Your setting of 1/2 power with that 400 strobe, is that the same as using a 200 strobe at full power?

    • @fjhphoto
      @fjhphoto  Рік тому

      The wheels are mainly there just to make it easier to move around. Unfortunately my back light actually fell during this photoshoot because a huge gust of wind came out of nowhere. The weight did it's job for most of the photoshoot except when that huge gust came.
      Yup, the 400 at 1/2 power would equal the 200 at full power.
