Welcome to another VirtualBike! This is a VirtualBike I've been so excited to do as it is my all-time favorite. We take one long ride up Chicago's Lakefront Trail of it's entirety from E. 71st St in the South Shore community area all the way up to N. Sheridan Rd in the Edgewater community area. You get to see Chicago's beautiful lakefront along with all the landmarks along it. There's not a cloud in the sky and Lake Michigan is bluer than the sky throughout the entire ride. Enjoy the beautiful lake, beaches, parks, Skyline, blue sky, and greenery along Chicago's lakeshore!
A little history: Chicago architect and city planner Daniel Burnham (Burnham Park is a nod to him!) once had a vision of Chicago's entire lakefront being parkland and a place to enjoy the day (in his day a lot of the urban area stretched all the way to the original lake shore along Michigan Ave). Well, that is pretty much the case today!
