Interesting note here. In my opinion the little boy I was really the hero resourceful smart positive gotta take your head off that young man.

They would goto the bow, and drown,or if Martin and Rosen went with Scott's plan the group would be split up and only a couple would survive,presumably the ones that wanted to go with Scott's plan.
At this point in the book, Susan is raped by a young crew member character who is not in the movie (this storyline is hinted at in the Beyond Poseidon sequel with Angela Cartwright and Mark Harmon''s characters) and Robin goes missing like we see here. The group are unable to find him so he is presumed dead when the ship sinks at the end.
In this film he escapes. Is it that in the book he goes missing and dies on the ship?
@@devdixit2440 yes, in the book he goes missing and the group presume he is dead. He does not make it to the rescue at the end.
@@djstonedog Sound's more dramatic that he wasn't found. This movie was made as a big budget blockbuster however, so I guess they didn't want to make it too depressing. I definitely feel it could have been more gritty though. I think Ronald Neame was a bad choice as director, imagine what William Freidkin or Sidney Lumet could have done with this.
I read the paperback novel way before the movie came out. The kid was lost and never founded in the book. I am glad that in the movie he was founded and saved. I am also glad his parents who were in the novel were lefted out of the movie.
