I personally would have preferred a semi-final showdown with Duncan losing. Lindsay being the other finalist. I just don't feel like Duncan deserved to win that season specifically, and I like Duncan as a character. I'm saying on a writing stance, Duncan NOT being a finalist would have been better
@@analyzgolden7774 The thing is even though Harold and Lindsay got amazing character development they have barely ever talked to each other. And the Duncan and Harold rivalry has been expanded on in season 1 and 2. Also if you don't like Duncan than Harold would be the Cannon winner so Duncan would not get his big victory in the cannon universe.
@@georges227 That would also be better than what we got To be clear, I actually DO like Duncan as a character. I'm okay with him winning A season, I just care about how the victory was handled. I don't have a problem with heavily flawed characters being successful in the end, in fact I prefer flawed characters over bland ones any day, but I do think the execution of their stance should be handled well. In canon, it wasn't for Duncan. But then again, Heather, is also a terrible person, and she won a season. And everyone loves that. So goes to show that it's all about the execution.

Mine (editing as I go along): Heather Vs Justin: Heather Justin was a decent comic relief in action but was a lousy villain, making the first half fall fairly flat, for any elimination other than Gwen’s in the first half, it was their own derailment (Trent, Geoff, Bridgette) or them botching the challenge (Izzy both times, although they try to make it look like Justin did it the second time, I don’t buy it) DJ is the exception but Justin played no role in his elimination. Meanwhile Heather did so much in both Island and World tour, was slightly worse as a comic relief than Justin in action But Heather still comes out on top Sadie moves on Alejandro Vs Ezekiel: This is a Joke right? Alejandro, didn’t even need to say it, no explanation needed Duncan moves on Courtney Vs Blainley: Courtney Blainley lost big time but it’s not really her fault, she was a fun little distraction for the few episodes she was in (counting aftermaths and specials, it’s 8 I think) but Courtney has a great arc with Duncan in season one, was a fun villain in season two, and brutally murdered after Duncan kissed Gwen but that’s ok Sierra moves on Gwen Vs. Leshawna: Leshawna These two are really strong and would both get to the quarter finals (final 8) under any other Circumstances, but Leshawna had slightly more going for her, she had a more entertaining rivalry with Heather, I actually like what they did with her in action, she got derailed in world tour but it was a pretty small decline. Gwen was good in island, but worse than Leshawna, Ok but worse than Leshawna in action, and Better than Leshawna in world tour (even if the kissing Duncan thing didn’t exactly earn her points) Leshawna wins 2-1 (Gwen was one of the few good contestants in all stars but Leshawna wasn’t there so I won’t compare it) Noah moves on Dj Vs Cody: Dj I prefer Cody but he was more dependent on others to have interesting plots, Cody’s plots were pretty good, season one he learned to not be weird with your crush and try to get to know them as friends instead of lovers (a good lesson for their audience) and his Sierra subplot was creepy but fun overall, Dj didn’t really have a plot in season one, season two he was pretty good with chef, and he got derailed in world tour (just realized how common that was, still a good season but pre-merge recked a lot of characters and they never recovered) but DJ didn’t need, for example Duncan to have his plots, so he gets the edge Katie moves on Eva Vs Beth: Beth Eva was just there until right before her elimination in her first try in season one, she got a pretty bad case of the purple edit but in her second go she… bullied Bridgette for a little and then left, yeah Beth wins, at least she can be kind and has an actual arc Owen moves on Harold Vs Trent: Harold Trent made it pretty far for his role in island, he was an item, a trophy for Gwen, he did nothing unexpected and was there so Gwen could have a motivation, which was needed, but maybe didn’t need to be a character; then in action he just became weird, got better in the aftermath and then left forever. Harold stood up to Duncan after being bullied by him all season in island, stood up to Duncan after being bullied by him all season in action, and got derailed in world tour, his plots were weak but he was one of the best comic reliefs so that counts for something Lindsay moves on

Good video. You were very objective up until Harold which seems to be your pet character. He may be rootable but he didn’t really have the best writing? I think objectively Heather sweeps Harold but this is an opinion video at the end of the day… I just found it interesting how careful you were with all the other selections but when it came to Harold you kind of fudged the reason for him to be #1.

My ranking of the gen 1 cast minus hosts and non contestants. 25 - Courtney - she is probably the most annoying character on the show, even more than Dave. She struggled through island, complained all the way through playa de losers, and the lawyers thing got so old quickly. I liked her in all stars, but then she ruined it, again! 24. Duncan - he's okay in island but terrible every other season 23. Blaineley - she was terrible in all her episodes, she had moments but the bridgette thing/joining wt for 2 episodes wasn't needed. 22. Owen - he is so annoying, his friendship with Noah is okay, but i find I'm quite intolerable sometimes. 21. Sierra - the cody thing brings her down soo much, if she wasn't obsessive, it would have worked so much better 20. Trent - i wanted to like him but omg, the action 9 obsession got old so fast and he never got redeemed. 19. Geoff - action was terrible to many, him included 18. Beth - there's nothing much to her, i don't think she deserved to win action though, like anyone exept duncan, courtney and owen could have been a better option. 17. Harold - he's kinda meh tbh 16. Tyler - another with not much to him, he was kinda bad in challenges, and never really had a storyline 15. Sadie - no character development outside of Katie and failed terribly in challenges. 14. Cody - i like him it's just another where it's more others rather than himself 13. Eva - she was actually quite good, but theres a massive lack of screentime and i can see while people hate her. 12. Kate - i know would all expect her to be higher, honestly she's kinda funny, and she had villian potential or at least be a villian helper, and she's good at dodgeball. 11. DJ - i like him but i don't think action wrote him that well, and there are others that i prefer more. 10. Bridgette - brilliant in Island, but the other seasons didn't treat her well enough to warrant anything higher. 9. Ezekiel - i know, i know, but honestly he tried and i kinda wish we saw more of him competing. 8. Leshawna - the action thing ruined her like everyone else but island was amazing for her. 7. Justin - he wasn't really a character in island, but i loved his interactions in action, shame he wasn't the full villain tbh. 6. Gwen - kinda ruined by duncan and trent, but I'm glad she did well in island and she was a great character in the othet series. 5. Lindsay - i love lindsay a lot, she's a funny character and another one with great interactions. All her eliminations are terrible except from all stars because even she knew it wasn't worth it. 4. Alejandro - he had some great interactions and made world tour quite watchable, even if he kinda had to ruin others but he's the antagonist, so i can't blame it really. 3. Izzy - she is the funniest of the series in fact all 3 series, and her interactions are hilarious, shame she never lasted long 2. Noah - same as Izzy tbh, those 2 plus eva was golden. 1. Heather - without a doubt, whilst i don't like the villains that much, she had the best arc, made island and world tour watchable and i loved the relationships she had post island, she was written brilliantly.

And the Duncan and Harold rivalry has been expanded on in season 1 and 2. Also if you don't like Duncan than Harold would be the Cannon winner so Duncan would not get his big victory in the cannon universe.

To be clear, I actually DO like Duncan as a character. I'm okay with him winning A season, I just care about how the victory was handled. I don't have a problem with heavily flawed characters being successful in the end, in fact I prefer flawed characters over bland ones any day, but I do think the execution of their stance should be handled well. In canon, it wasn't for Duncan.
But then again, Heather, is also a terrible person, and she won a season. And everyone loves that. So goes to show that it's all about the execution.

Heather Vs Justin: Heather
Justin was a decent comic relief in action but was a lousy villain, making the first half fall fairly flat, for any elimination other than Gwen’s in the first half, it was their own derailment (Trent, Geoff, Bridgette) or them botching the challenge (Izzy both times, although they try to make it look like Justin did it the second time, I don’t buy it) DJ is the exception but Justin played no role in his elimination. Meanwhile Heather did so much in both Island and World tour, was slightly worse as a comic relief than Justin in action But Heather still comes out on top

Blainley lost big time but it’s not really her fault, she was a fun little distraction for the few episodes she was in (counting aftermaths and specials, it’s 8 I think) but Courtney has a great arc with Duncan in season one, was a fun villain in season two, and brutally murdered after Duncan kissed Gwen but that’s ok

Gwen Vs. Leshawna: Leshawna
These two are really strong and would both get to the quarter finals (final 8) under any other Circumstances, but Leshawna had slightly more going for her, she had a more entertaining rivalry with Heather, I actually like what they did with her in action, she got derailed in world tour but it was a pretty small decline. Gwen was good in island, but worse than Leshawna, Ok but worse than Leshawna in action, and Better than Leshawna in world tour (even if the kissing Duncan thing didn’t exactly earn her points) Leshawna wins 2-1 (Gwen was one of the few good contestants in all stars but Leshawna wasn’t there so I won’t compare it)

Dj Vs Cody: Dj
I prefer Cody but he was more dependent on others to have interesting plots, Cody’s plots were pretty good, season one he learned to not be weird with your crush and try to get to know them as friends instead of lovers (a good lesson for their audience) and his Sierra subplot was creepy but fun overall, Dj didn’t really have a plot in season one, season two he was pretty good with chef, and he got derailed in world tour (just realized how common that was, still a good season but pre-merge recked a lot of characters and they never recovered) but DJ didn’t need, for example Duncan to have his plots, so he gets the edge

Eva Vs Beth: Beth
Eva was just there until right before her elimination in her first try in season one, she got a pretty bad case of the purple edit but in her second go she… bullied Bridgette for a little and then left, yeah Beth wins, at least she can be kind and has an actual arc
Owen moves on
Harold Vs Trent: Harold
Trent made it pretty far for his role in island, he was an item, a trophy for Gwen, he did nothing unexpected and was there so Gwen could have a motivation, which was needed, but maybe didn’t need to be a character; then in action he just became weird, got better in the aftermath and then left forever. Harold stood up to Duncan after being bullied by him all season in island, stood up to Duncan after being bullied by him all season in action, and got derailed in world tour, his plots were weak but he was one of the best comic reliefs so that counts for something

Good video. You were very objective up until Harold which seems to be your pet character. He may be rootable but he didn’t really have the best writing? I think objectively Heather sweeps Harold but this is an opinion video at the end of the day… I just found it interesting how careful you were with all the other selections but when it came to Harold you kind of fudged the reason for him to be #1.

25 - Courtney - she is probably the most annoying character on the show, even more than Dave. She struggled through island, complained all the way through playa de losers, and the lawyers thing got so old quickly. I liked her in all stars, but then she ruined it, again!
24. Duncan - he's okay in island but terrible every other season
23. Blaineley - she was terrible in all her episodes, she had moments but the bridgette thing/joining wt for 2 episodes wasn't needed.
22. Owen - he is so annoying, his friendship with Noah is okay, but i find I'm quite intolerable sometimes.
21. Sierra - the cody thing brings her down soo much, if she wasn't obsessive, it would have worked so much better
20. Trent - i wanted to like him but omg, the action 9 obsession got old so fast and he never got redeemed.
19. Geoff - action was terrible to many, him included
18. Beth - there's nothing much to her, i don't think she deserved to win action though, like anyone exept duncan, courtney and owen could have been a better option.
17. Harold - he's kinda meh tbh
16. Tyler - another with not much to him, he was kinda bad in challenges, and never really had a storyline
15. Sadie - no character development outside of Katie and failed terribly in challenges.
14. Cody - i like him it's just another where it's more others rather than himself
13. Eva - she was actually quite good, but theres a massive lack of screentime and i can see while people hate her.
12. Kate - i know would all expect her to be higher, honestly she's kinda funny, and she had villian potential or at least be a villian helper, and she's good at dodgeball.
11. DJ - i like him but i don't think action wrote him that well, and there are others that i prefer more.
10. Bridgette - brilliant in Island, but the other seasons didn't treat her well enough to warrant anything higher.
9. Ezekiel - i know, i know, but honestly he tried and i kinda wish we saw more of him competing.
8. Leshawna - the action thing ruined her like everyone else but island was amazing for her.
7. Justin - he wasn't really a character in island, but i loved his interactions in action, shame he wasn't the full villain tbh.
6. Gwen - kinda ruined by duncan and trent, but I'm glad she did well in island and she was a great character in the othet series.
5. Lindsay - i love lindsay a lot, she's a funny character and another one with great interactions. All her eliminations are terrible except from all stars because even she knew it wasn't worth it.
4. Alejandro - he had some great interactions and made world tour quite watchable, even if he kinda had to ruin others but he's the antagonist, so i can't blame it really.
3. Izzy - she is the funniest of the series in fact all 3 series, and her interactions are hilarious, shame she never lasted long
2. Noah - same as Izzy tbh, those 2 plus eva was golden.
1. Heather - without a doubt, whilst i don't like the villains that much, she had the best arc, made island and world tour watchable and i loved the relationships she had post island, she was written brilliantly.
