I'm continuing my attempt to record every song I've ever written. In fact, I think 'record' - in heteronymic terms - is key here. I've been doing this for a long time and my life - such as it is - is lodged in these songs. I don't want any of it to be lost. Even if I am.

This is a song that I suspect no more than a dozen people have ever heard before AT ALL. Unless you count all the people I busked it at, back in, as they say, 'the day'.
Chris Ilett remembers it, I think. Mark Haynes almost certainly remembers it differently.
It's called Elemental. I wrote it when I was... 21? So it has a few delusions of literature. I'll be honest, I tweaked a few lyrics here and there (although the chorus and 2nd verse remained entirely intact) and I had literally no idea how the middle 8 went, so I wrote a new one and whacked in a key change for good measure.
I'm not 100 percent certain what it means, but I FEEL like I know far better now than I did then.
