Hey Josh, 74yr. old grammar here. Never thought that your content would hold any interest for me. Yet here I am. I'm learning about a whole new culture that I never knew existed! Thank you. I'm so happy that you are walking the straight and narrow. It must not have been an easy road to follow. Love and blessings from R. I. Happy New Year to you and yours

Prayers for Mr. Lansing’s Family. I was in CRC in Orient, Ohio for a little less than a year back in 2000. Back then, Ohio Prisons were insanely violent and it has gotten exponentially worse. I have friends inside Ross and it is known as one of the worst in “The Prison State” of Ohio.

💯 makes me happy to see others pull out too! We can have better lives when we put our mind to it. Josh makes me feel normal. 9 years since last time I was down and 7 years clean and sober. Only other inmates understand some of the things we do, say, and have been thru!
Keep it up Josh. 💯 Real

I’ve worked in several states for the prison system. I had to leave because of my mental health. People don’t think COs deal with things, but we do. There are good ones out there and I thought I was one of the good ones. One of my fellow COs and friend Megan was murdered running into a cell to put out a fire that an inmate set. RIP MEGAN LEE CALLAHAN. ❤

I am a former inmate, COs go thru some shat!! There are good and bad. My nephew is a CO. I have friends that are. My neighbor is. You guys see some of the craziest stuff. Especially the ones who have to work in women's facilities. I hope with time your mental health continues to improve. The good COs made a huge difference to many of us!

I did 9 years at RCI. I knew Lansing, as he was my regular block officer for 3 years. He was not a terrible guy, but he could be difficult. Definitely not one of the many bottom feeders wearing the uniform at that facility.
News said he was working at the guard shack where everyone passes on the way to chow. He was working alone & the shack is very small.
Regardless of where I’ve been, he definitely did not deserve this.

The fact it happened on Christmas is the worst part, I'll never forget my dad's funeral primarily because it just so happened to be on Father's Day. Those holidays make the memories stick, just gives them a reminder... Also found out yesterday on Christmas my cousin has MS and like 5-6 years to live. I'm grateful for my life and all I can do is help her while she's here.

I mean waking up in a place you despise being surrounded by people without basic courtesy such as not being loud or banging on the metal tables laughing or talking loud while people are trying to sleep etc. mofos are cranky in the morning. My future didn't include it. So much needs to be done. The hole sounds like revenge rather than punishment. Where to begin. People wan Justice. It is revenge. Things have to change but it nearly impossible to help people understand. We create more, strong, and skilled devils. Some people go mad. It's not Justice.

If this dude OD'd on anything requiring Narcan, it is not because he accidentally touched an opioid. Transdermal resorption of any opioid, including fentanyl takes a lot of time. Happy Christmas and new year brother.
I lived the party life hard. Confidence beaming from my energy and would stand toe to toe with any man no fear of death. One day I had what I thought was a heart attack it turned out to be a 3 year everyday hell of the constant panic of organs failing and just generally feeling completely mentally poisoned. So hearing your talk about this hits home mate and even more so when 2 Fridays back before Christmas my dogs fight with the most horrific case of cancer I've known in my life ended. It's a friend I lost that took a big piece of my heart when I lost him that day. Dogs are not even a typical pet they literally are family. The connection I've had with my own dogs in my whole life I've been blessed with. I was able to to connect with him with just eye contact and his facial expressions like no other dog I had. A real personality that makes it so much tougher to get past. Life is one tough trial of your emotions and I finally stopped having anxiety when I realised worrying about everything or too much will end life quick.

Hey brother, love you're podcast. The only reason i didn't end up in prison was i guess i was luckier than you. Lol when i was young i did stupid shit too. Keep up the good content. My dad was licked up and as a kid got a education about prison in ohio. The second time you pronounced Chillicothe was correct. I don't even know if that's how you spell it. Never been there. Later brother good luck and have a great year with yourself and family.

The thing is if it was an inmate this wouldn't be on the news. People there get killed all the time at Ross

As a former CO at a Supermax facility and CP offenders were in my unit. The man down button should be built into the radio the same as police on the street. Also where were the control room or other wing officers at. Sounds like his fellow COs dropped the ball. I’ve seen murders by beating more than once but it was offender on offender. As you said it not anything you will forget. I was at Potosi Correctional Center in Missouri

Check out a video on the Black Dolphin prison in Russia. Stuff like this doesn't happen there. We could learn from them how to build and run a prison.

From my experience of 8 years in person here in Florida, guards ain't getting killed for no reason. Maybe 1out of 100 really didn't deserve it, but inmates usually ain't killing a guard and then get the crap beaten out of them for no reason. Karma is a bitch.
