I really like your experimental work aimed at creating light effects that enhance the shapes giving that three-dimensionality that makes the model as real as possible unlike those who only worry about making a good model. For me you are an example. I would gladly show you some photos of my Corsair made in 2020 during the pandemic. I experimented a lot to make it live and the final result satisfied me. I will continue to follow you in your modeling/artistic/realistic works. Best regards.

Cool, Sean. AK True Metal works well.
Unless historical photos show otherwise a wear down to metal should show signs of the primer on the edges as you have done. It makes sense. A lot of weathered model aircraft do not have it.
If I have not mentioned this before there is a official RAF training film posted on my channel on the preparation and painting of WW2 airplanes with special attention on 'High Speed',
aircraft. The video shows in some cases how many layers could be found with cross section magnification, the use of putty and primer/filler.

I think those True Metals are essentially different colour gilding waxes. They can be buffed up a bit when dry to look like shiny metal. It will be interesting to see how you get on creating the chipping effect.

Great job. As far as i remember, i’m sure True Metal are wax based.
