- The Department of Home Affairs says it has evidence of alleged fraud committed by the mother of Miss South Africa contestant Chidimma Adetshina. The Miss SA Organisation had requested a thorough investigation into Adetshina's citizenship following a social media uproar. Ntokozo Khumalo has more.

They weren't wrong with what they said and neither was Gayton. Gayton said that a Nigerian shouldn't represent miss SA, which is true. EFF and others said that Chiddima is South African, which is also true. There's 3 ways to be a citizen in South African law(Citizenship Act 1995, section 2). Descendants, Birth or Naturalization. Chiddima is south African by birth since she was born in Soweto according to her birth certificate. The real issue is when people hear the name Chiddima and assume she's not south African, like she chose what name her parents gave her. The same energy wasn't given to Megan Coleman(irish name), kerishnie naicker(Indian name), but everyone is outraged by Chiddima adetshina and automatically assumed she can't be south African
