I don't own the minerals on my land here in West Virginia but I did declare by affidavit I own the Renewable Energy Rights and Air Rights too. May not be worth much now but in the future be worth something.
@mineralsguy If you purchase a parcel of land and in the process of construction you find that parcel of land is mineral rich. The seller of the land is unaware of the mineral deposits. Who has the mineral rights? You or the seller?

It depends on what the deed says! Is your property in the US?
I would not buy a piece of property where I did not have the mineral rights
Neither would I!
