The purple girl control the time
The story of the anime is about a purple girl who befriends two magical girls and they die. She becomes a magical girl and goes back in time to save one of them whom she was close with trying to save her. Every time she fails, she goes back in time to retry. The purple girl has the power to stop time for a limited amount of time. Everything that touches her is immune to that power. The girl in yellow can create ribbons and threads to help her fight. The ribbon on the purple girl's ankle was the reason the yellow girl was able to move while the time stopped. When she got distracted trying to save the girl, she took the opportunity and broke it with the bullet.

Yes! Yes! THIS is what I mean she I say this anime is amazing, dark, and brilliant! Also, this is a movie sequel to the original series. The first series is just Puella Magi Madoka Magical and there are also two movies that basically recall the events in that series, but with more detail although more like an abridged version. This movie is Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Rebellion. There is also a spin off series called Magia Record and a new movie coming out which roughly translates to Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Walpurgisnacht Rising
Long story short. If i explain the entire thing it will be a spoiler so hang on it.
The black and purple girl is Homura, she has an ability to freeze time, and also have dozen of arsenal weapons, ranging from small hand grenade to a freaking RPG-7 and machine gun, she can also manipulated weapons and control them by touching them, and also anything that she touches will be release from his time freeze. But Her power has a limit of time, Or a time limit. If the entire sand timer of her shield has run out. She will no longer able to used her time power. It's a spoiler why doe.
The yellow girl is Mami, she has an ability to create everything using his ribbon. He only used it to create guns but she also used a magia called Filo Finalle. It's a canon type weapon. she can also used it to other things like making a temporary bridge, a trap, etc. She's also infamous for head jokes.
The reason why Homura didn't die is a Spoiler to one of the plot point of the original TV show. But I will sums up into a few words. If you get hit on any fetal hit like the brain or heart. the person won't die. Only thing you need to do is protect something like a vessal. If that Vessel was cut off, you will die. That's the reason why Homura, with his handgun pointed to Mami's head. where the vessel is. But decided not to fire it. Homura's Vessal is behind her shield. Which Is pretty fuck up if it break lol

Yeah but see showing someone this as the first fight they see in the series……… it’s literally the best fight in terms of length and how much combat is really happening
I can explain
So,they are magical girls,Homura was friends with them,but a strong witch(walpurgis)appears at the end of that month and ends up killing them,but Homura lives since she wasn't a magical girl and didn't fight
So she wishes to meet Madoka again,and she gets the power to time travel
So she goes through,like a lot of timelines,more than 100
And in the final time line,Madoka wishes to become a magical girl
And because what she wishes for,she becomes a god
So Homura ends up becoming a witch,but not at the same time,and the labyrinth she creates is like mitakihara(the city they live in)
And,she tries to kill the witch that killed Mami(yellow haired girl)in the timeline where Madoka becomes a God,so she tries to kill her then,and Mami saves the witch(her name is Bebe/Nagisa)and fights Homura,sorry if the text was long,that's the best way I can explain Madoka Magica
Another great set of fight scenes is present in the Nanoha Movies! ESPECIALLY Reflection and Detonation! Absolutely INSANE. And the series (All arcs) is good too, even the story is complex, but worthwhile! I'd love to see your reaction to anything that involves this great franchise! I'd put an example here, but it won't let me without deleting my comment. Just search for Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. And though some has been dubbed, subtitles are fine too.
