On this edition of The Eighty Five, Cole Kmet explains how he let his frustration out on his one catch in Minnesota, and the overall toll of the Bears’ losing streak. @@AMBNumbr1StunaYTthank you! Why is he even wasting his time making a podcast? Us bears fans would be much more appreciative of some good play than we would be on the tight end’s thoughts on one of the most disappointing bears teams of our lifetime.
Cole and Hoge, to make the show more enjoyable for both of you and to take it to the next level, you guys need to incorporate more fun segments.
For example, going over the game, then get some film of Cole’s best plays from the game: whether it’s a huge block, a nasty route, a nice catch, and Cole can break it down, or you can go through some big plays the team had.
This will keep the show fresh and fun for you guys!
My nephew is a huge fan Cole! I got him your jersey and now a 85 show for Christmas.

In losing
This Sunday I want to see the Bears take as many chances as possible. Let Caleb sling it for 60 yard passes, blitzes on Defense, go for it every 4th down. We’ve got nothing to lose, pretend your playing Madden IRL. Let Thomas Brown’s HC tenure go out in a blaze of glory and let the players have some fun!

If Cole's running on fumes, he shouldn't be doing a podcast. Preperation and winning the next game will always be more important.
What did i say.. same old speech of “We gotta get better in the beginning of the game” … They have been saying this since the FIRST GAME of the season .. and they still haven’t done it.
It's like ground hog day every week. We gotta play better, we have to come out faster, we have to execute. We came up short.

Cole, your one of the leaders. If there are players not giving their all both physically and mentally then do something about it. Be the leader the team needs. And if that’s Caleb, he needs a coming to Jesus moment because he’s missing receivers left and right.
Can’t even listen to these anymore. Always saying the same stuff. At some point the “Leader” of the locker room, so called “Captains”. 8 of them and they can’t get their own culture on track. Do better guys sheesh

Just wanted to check in another week, and I had to make sure this was the newest show, because it's the same sh1t regurgited, just like on the field, so there's your consistency. And I've been here for 47 years, this the first year I was excited to see what yall could be, even when my whole circle were trying to bring me to reality. Massive fan of this, but how can we go from 4-2 to 4-10!
Can’t see us wining a single game to finish either. The only way to change this is changing the narrative from top to bottom. It’s going to be the same thing next year.
We’ll be excited about a player in the offseason, highlights in preseason will get our hopes up. But we’ll still be the Chicago bears 😂😂 and guess what guys we stink the NFL out!!!

I heard 25 guys of Marshall team transferred thru the portal to follow the coach to another school. I think it was Southern Miss they transferred to, so Marshall couldn’t field a team and had to drop out of the Independence Bowl.
I've been a Bears fan for 22 years and this is the most disappointed I've ever been in this team.

-Screen to Rome, should have been an illegal man down field on Kiran
-1st&10, Shelton gets the “can opener” and gets put on the ground as well as Tev but Caleb missed his hit read to Rome on the A-gap blitz. Threw it away
-Kiran too slow and get Caleb killed for the sack fumble
Drive3:
1st&10 from the 40, bad check by Caleb with not enough blockers for run play
2nd&9, Kmet missed block in the hole off of a good check by Caleb which should have been a HUGE run and maybe a 60yard TD
3rd&7, Caleb stepped up well but threw it lunging forward right to H.Smith. If he slowed himself down mentally, he could have flipped it to the back for the 1st
Drive4: 3&out*free 1st with penalty
3rd down, Rome slightly over ran the hole in the zone but Caleb hesitated causing it to be too late
Caleb finally takes his underneath pass to Kmet for a 14 and a 1st
3rd&medium, Caleb scrambles for the 1st while everyone was covered. Called back for Kiran holding (beat to outside again)
4th&1, Kiran driven back and Everett blocks no one until it’s too late. Turnover on downs
Drive5:
-1st&10, Kiran get beat around the end but does a good job pushing his guy out of the play. Caleb looks at Swift wide open but chose to try to be Superman again, ends up throwing it away. Ends up being a hold
-great throw to Allen for a 1st vs zone
-Allen drops a quick out
-2nd&10, inaccurate screen pass to DJ that should have been picked but DJ saved it for 2 yards
-3rd&8, terrible throw by Caleb to Allen which would have been a huge play and 1st down (WIDE OPEN)
Drive6: FG
-1st&10, Lewis misses block entirely in Swift run
-free play on offsides, gets it to Rome for a big gain
-Has Allen wide open in the end zone but Caleb misses the throw. Had time but didn’t set feet
-great blocks by Kiran and DJ on the Swift run down to the 1
-Kramer no report then very soft call on the holding on Kiran
-2nd&goal, great job of getting separation by Rome and Caleb missed high
-3rd&goal, Caleb sits in the pocket for 4 seconds before escaping and throwing what would have been a TD to Rome but Allen jumped in front and dropped it
Drive7: FG
-Refs blew a free play dead…
-3rd&3, Tev gets beat which flushes Caleb out right for a really nice play by Allen. Not a good throw by Caleb. Room to run if he keeps it in bounds
-3rd&11, Kiran false start
-3rd&16, Kiran illegal man down field (soft, 1.5yards) Vikings had this exact flag picked up but much more egregious
Drive8:
-Caleb takes a check down finally for 5 yards
-Caleb holds the ball too long on screen (2.5sec) allowing defenders to rally
-sacked on 3rd down (2.5sec), sent 5 with no hot reads in routes
Drive9: TD pass
-Hot throw but poor throw to Allen, behind him causing him to be hit and drop it
-Caleb checks to max protect and makes a nice escape and throw to Allen for 1st
-Another hot read 0-coverage to Allen, good throw but dropped
-Caleb checks to max protect but they bail and Rome drops a great throw in the end zone
-Inaccurate fade ball to Allen, back shoulder was there
-Steps up in the pocket with a rifle to Allen for TD

How hard is it being a podcaster and playing football? It seems Cole is putting more focus on this UA-cam channel than playing. Might be good to retire early and let a younger hungrier TE take over. At least Cole has the memories of being good while in ND. Thanks for putting in some effort while playing for your childhood team

Hey Cole, in the 5 years you've been with Chicago, the teams are terrible, so yeah, I'd say maybe you need to start some new routines, change up your practices, etc. You have A LOT of things to improve on. Your blocking is horrible, you drop balls too often, you don't get open enough, you're just not a top tier TE.
You become a GOOD TEAM FIRST, THEN YOU ALLOW THE PLAYERS TO RUN THE TEAM.... we do everything ass backwards. Its such a god damn joke.
