Oh they totally explained the building thing wrong in the anime. It's explained correctly in the manga. Basically, there were 5 buildings, but they labeled all teams in each building W, X, Y, Z, to make them believe they were the weakest teams. So yeah we WILL see new people in the upcoming 2nd selection.

ok so the "5 buildings conundrum" in episode 1 we see 300 people. they are randomly selected into 25 groups of 12 (although i am questioning the "random" part as we see reo and nagi together and that cant be completely random imho). regardless, they get separates in 25 groups of 12 and furthermore separated again in 5 groups of 5x12. then each group goes to separate building and gets explanation that blue lock is split in 5 buildings and that their building is lowest one ranking V>W>X>Y>Z. that is what ego told Z team as we see, but he also says same thing in all 5 buildings. so its not from A to Z its from V to Z five times. But every building thinks they are the lowest ranking building. then they have each player show their skills and abilities and based on it they rank them based on performance. So the ranking among players inside the building is accurate but how well they rank among all 300 players is not because you could randomly get 30 players who rank top100 in one building while other building can have only 2 players from top100. bottom line is that each player think they are lowest of the low or in case of team V, players like zangetsu, reo and nagi, they are best of the worst. Why did Ego do that? well, after the V:Z match we see Ego force players to do conditioning, improve their stamina, speed, dexterity and strength etc... As they believe they are weakest building they are doing so with ambition in mind to catch up to other building believing they must train twice as hard just to get on other players level. This way everyone is training better than they would if they thought they are best or second best building. If you think you are already on the top you'd feel like you dont need to train as hard as others because you are already ahead of them all... when you think you are behind you cant afford to slack. Its genius tactic :D thats why you can see seemingly illogical difference in skills between players like barou compared to most of the npcs in all the other teams. Although it is not that simple, we could easily argue that there is lot of players in Z team alone who feels like they should definitely be higher ranking than most of the players in the building but their flaws were holding them all back. Chigiri has super speed but had mental block due to ACL injury, Kunigami is great striker but his morals and hero complex gets in the way of unlocking the "ego" that Ego is looking for, Gagamaru is agile and will try to score any way possible but is essentially only shining as 2 player combo. Even Barou is ranked so low (based on skills alone he should arguably be in V) because of his attitude. Barou ironically is ranked low because of his ego XD
15:16 its not arrogance, its ego. that attitude is literally the whole concept behind blue lock, it feels amazing to see how realistic the anime actually is and that its not just fantasy :)
Only people who’ve played sports or specifically watched this anime would understand that. In the recent several years people online have been obsessed with people being “humble” & “honorable” (across all sprorts) that any kind of trash talk or confidence is seen as cocky & disrespectful
"Winning isn't everything" It is when you're playing a competition. This whole show doesn't mince words when it comes to sports, if you don't win? You've failed. If as a striker you don't score goals? you aren't doing your job, if your team loses a match? That's paramount to dying for a player who takes it seriously. If you aren't even trying at all to win, you're just wasting not only your time, you're wasting everyone elses time.
Bro episode 10 has one of my favorite Additional Times when Kunigami puts the eye drops in and he's like "It's Niko when he lost to us" LOLOL fucking murdered him TWICE

Raichi finally did something in this game haha! Finally putting some action behind his trash talking. Winning might not be everything but trying your DAMNdest is. It's not the fact that they (Kuon's old team) lost, it's their loser attitude. Incredible how they made me actually feel sorry for Kuon. Isagi's direct shot is so freaking amazing, I had to re-watch that part too.
42:47 Noel Noa is a fictional character in bluelock he is currently the number 1 striker in that universe. Fan speculates that his character reference was the legendary football player Zinedine Zidane and a rational striker Robert Lewandowski. That backstory of Noel Noa was similar to Zidane's background and both of them are ambidextrous.
About Raichi and Kuon... Raichi basically thought "Im going to save everyone the awkardness of forgiving Kuon bu just punching him and called it even so we can go back to a mutual understading", and I love that

I always admire characters that are really tenacious and Raichi is a character that I wanted to shine and that's exactly what he did this match. I was super hyped watching him run like a maniac to save the ball

Yeah. 125 players remain total. Just all from separate team V - Z. There were no teams above that. So Nagi is actually one of the 5 best players in blue lock bc he was the top rank in their building.

Make sure you watch the nagi spinoff movie inbetween seasons 1&2. Its not super important but its a bit like the OVA episodes in aot or haikyuu, it gives you more info on nagi and team v. Also the animation is great cause its a movie.

Exactly, I know they gave us that backstory to make us feel sad for him, he did get screwed by the casuals on his old team and then went and sabotaged a team that he could’ve had his dream with, I can forgive him but I won’t stop being irritated he threw away exactly what he wanted to be a traitor 🗣️ And that’s why I love Blue Lock, it goes against the whole “Winning isn’t everything” mentality, it is good to learn to lose with grace but if you’re trying to be the best, the win HAS to be everything or you won’t fight to achieve it. That’s why Ego is trying to build egos in the boys to go for the winning goal in their own ways. Gosh, I love Blue Lock.

Raichi awakened to be the captain in this episode. Surely the MOTM Kuon can be a good captain but he brought his past to the present. Also something funny, episode 11 aired the morning or so of the World Cup final. That night, Mbappe scored a similar goal to Isagi. Also I feel for Kuon but seeing you being passionate and tearing up made me tear up as well. Hate those who don't feel your passion and desire and are like, third place is good enough, you don't actually expect us to compete, right? Of course I do, doesn't matter if we are the worst team vs the best team, make them regret playing our team. Love how you brought up Suarez. Yes, it was dirty but for me it is passion. It is different if the ref didn't give a penalty. Ref sent him off, gave a pen, Gyan missed it.
Seconding that you should check out the Nagi OVA, but imo I think it's best to hold off until you're well into season 2, as there are some spoilers in it.
The missing piece was that he realized that every shot that Bachira ever gave him lead into a direct shot, including the kick in the face to that Kira guy
The whole red card to stop a goal actually has a pretty solid parallel to American Football. If a receiver manages to get past the defender sometimes it is better to take the pass interference call than to allow the receiver to score (especially in College where it is just a 15 yard penalty.)
19:06 It's completely wrong to say that's cheating. This is no different from a normal tackle that gets a whistle or a harder tackle that gets a yellow card. The player took an action and got penalized for it. In this case, Kuon got a red card, so everything was within in the rules. And in Suarez's case, he got a red card and Ghana got a penalty kick. Again, everything was within the rules. It's not his fault that Ghana missed the penalty kick.
The whole "Winning isnt everything" ideal is true, but when you're competing it means something different. Winning is the end goal, but the opposite (losing) doesn't invalidate what you did on the path to victory. Winning isnt everything, but if you can do the work to always win then you should do that work and if it doesnt work out then strive to surpass that next time and win

So there were 5 team Z's, 5 team W's and so on. So the only people we know here are the 25 people who got through (Team Z, Team V, Wanima, Niko and Barou) - but there are four other groups with 25 players each. Its actually funny when you think about it. There was no shot he can look at hundreds of prospects and rank them by ability in any reasonable way. So he didnt and instead let them show him who deserves to be in the top 100. Raichi is for sure the MVP of the team V game guy was huge. Did you notice how Isagi's aura went from Blue to Green? I promised I will talk about aura's in this anime later and now the time finally came. Mind you this is mostly my conjecture but its from what I picked up on screen. As far as I am aware this was not a thing in the manga - at least not fully. At the start everyone gets a blue aura - this seems to represent Blue Lock. Their ego and abilities are not there yet so Blue Lock is "providing" the ego for them but its not "theirs" - its external. Once they find their own ego and their own path, the aura changes to suit themselves. So far I think we have seen two auras that are awakened like that - Nagi's and Isagi's. Nagi has a black and white aura that makes him feel like the reaper - when it goes full size he also gets the skeletal motiff to it - This represents his ability to "kill" the ball as well as his general mindset of not caring about things - be it preconceptions, people's feelings or laws of physics. (I bloody love this character). Isagi on the other hand has a green aura. Green like the grass they play on - representing his mindset of controlling everything on the field. Green also represents growth in japanse symbology. Thats pretty much it for today - I will be adding more aura explanations as they come up in the story :P

13:12 yeah i am not mad at him at all for trying to win with underhanded tactics, i am mad at him for being stupid about it. like, ok dude do something dirty to make sure that even if you lose you still go to next round as top scorer. i am ok with that. so whether your team wins or loses it does not affect you. why play against your team? try to win, play v:z and if you lose you still go on as top scorer. if you win, your whole team go through so you still go on. there is no losing side for him to try and play as a team in this match. I also feel very critical about how stupid he is to actually let the other team score after getting goals himself. he could have easily make a deal with them, take 3 free goals and then just try to win with 3 goal advantage and if the twins complain that he did not honor his part of the deal team z would protect him imo. we already know bachira is not scare of throwing hands based on first episode, raichi is more than happy to murder anyone just give him a reason and kunigami is all about fairness he wont be happy about kuon cheating but he will not just stand by and watch enemy team beat him up either (toughest part about being a hero is that you care for wellbeing of everyone, good or bad, without cherrypicking. that is what separates heroes from average nice person). So seriously everything about kuon is just illogical and bad narratively speaking :D
also, very importantly? Ego didn't complain about his goals being underhanded. That wasn't the issue. The issue was that we're trying to polish these strikers so they have a way to consistently score goals. Get the ball to Kunigami within his range? That's a shot on goal. Get the ball to Chigiri at a point where he can run at goal? That's a shot on goal. Get the ball to Isagi at a point where he can volley it? That's a shot on goal. Kuon's trick, however, is fundamentally no different from a fluke. You did it once, you can't do it again, and if you can only do it if you also force your team to lose, then what's the point?

Its just that even though he was complaining he still continued grading everyone the same. He requested of players to find their formula for goals, Kuon found his, the way ego sees it kuon simply did what was asked of him. and just to clarify, when i say ego doesnt care i dont mean he is indiferent and not invested, i mean he is always looking at bigger picture and is calculated. he does not bother with petty stuff that is irellevant in his plan like he has a tunnel vision.

To quote Ego: "And that's to say nothing of those totally worthless staged goals from your betrayal, which have no reproducibility". Ego's philosophy is that as a striker, you must be able to find your weapon, a reproducible method to score. You see Barou, for example. If he gets into range, he can shoot and score. His physique lets him get into range and hold onto the ball in range. Or Isagi now - Isagi's volley with his spatial awareness to be in the correct position for the goal. But Kuon's goals *can't be pulled off in-game*. There's nothing about those goals that lends themselves to being reproduced. There's nothing either Kuon or the team can do on the field to let that weapon be used. That's why he's the lowest of the low. Not because he's a traitor, who cares about that, but because his goals are all flukes.

One of the reasons i love watching lachy is cause he’s both so opposite to me and just like me. I hate when people dont try their hardest in something I love and i can get really competitive at times, but I’m definitely the opposite of confident and dont have the “anything it takes to win” attitude Lachy has. I also dont think he’s as arrogant or “aggressive” about his takes as other reactors; like this is just his belief, but he’s not trying to convince u every 2 sec that he’s right.
A similar project to bluelock would be pretty good have every year where only a selected hundred of players would be scouted depending on their positions like a bluelock for strikers, midfielders etc. They could adjust the setting tho because we all know a bluelock project inprisoning multiple highschoolers is def not gonna get governments help first try 😂

And that’s why I love Blue Lock, it goes against the whole “Winning isn’t everything” mentality, it is good to learn to lose with grace but if you’re trying to be the best, the win HAS to be everything or you won’t fight to achieve it. The whole red card to stop a goal actually has a pretty solid parallel to American Football. If a receiver manages to get past the defender sometimes it is better to take the pass interference call than to allow the receiver to score (especially in College where it is just a 15 yard penalty.)

The player took an action and got penalized for it. In this case, Kuon got a red card, so everything was within in the rules. And in Suarez's case, he got a red card and Ghana got a penalty kick. Again, everything was within the rules. It's not his fault that Ghana missed the penalty kick.

The whole "Winning isnt everything" ideal is true, but when you're competing it means something different. Winning is the end goal, but the opposite (losing) doesn't invalidate what you did on the path to victory. Winning isnt everything, but if you can do the work to always win then you should do that work and if it doesnt work out then strive to surpass that next time and win

No there were five buildings - but all of them were called "building 5" and people in them were told they are the worst guys out there. So there were 5 team Z's, 5 team W's and so on. So the only people we know here are the 25 people who got through (Team Z, Team V, Wanima, Niko and Barou) - but there are four other groups with 25 players each. Its actually funny when you think about it. There was no shot he can look at hundreds of prospects and rank them by ability in any reasonable way. So he didnt and instead let them show him who deserves to be in the top 100.
Raichi is for sure the MVP of the team V game guy was huge.
Did you notice how Isagi's aura went from Blue to Green? I promised I will talk about aura's in this anime later and now the time finally came. Mind you this is mostly my conjecture but its from what I picked up on screen. As far as I am aware this was not a thing in the manga - at least not fully.
At the start everyone gets a blue aura - this seems to represent Blue Lock. Their ego and abilities are not there yet so Blue Lock is "providing" the ego for them but its not "theirs" - its external. Once they find their own ego and their own path, the aura changes to suit themselves. So far I think we have seen two auras that are awakened like that - Nagi's and Isagi's.
Nagi has a black and white aura that makes him feel like the reaper - when it goes full size he also gets the skeletal motiff to it - This represents his ability to "kill" the ball as well as his general mindset of not caring about things - be it preconceptions, people's feelings or laws of physics. (I bloody love this character).
Isagi on the other hand has a green aura. Green like the grass they play on - representing his mindset of controlling everything on the field. Green also represents growth in japanse symbology.
Thats pretty much it for today - I will be adding more aura explanations as they come up in the story :P

Seems to me you missed the explanation from Kami. Piccolo Daimaku was Kami's evil side, he phisically separated from the evil within him.
13:12 yeah i am not mad at him at all for trying to win with underhanded tactics, i am mad at him for being stupid about it. like, ok dude do something dirty to make sure that even if you lose you still go to next round as top scorer. i am ok with that. so whether your team wins or loses it does not affect you. why play against your team? try to win, play v:z and if you lose you still go on as top scorer. if you win, your whole team go through so you still go on. there is no losing side for him to try and play as a team in this match. I also feel very critical about how stupid he is to actually let the other team score after getting goals himself. he could have easily make a deal with them, take 3 free goals and then just try to win with 3 goal advantage and if the twins complain that he did not honor his part of the deal team z would protect him imo. we already know bachira is not scare of throwing hands based on first episode, raichi is more than happy to murder anyone just give him a reason and kunigami is all about fairness he wont be happy about kuon cheating but he will not just stand by and watch enemy team beat him up either (toughest part about being a hero is that you care for wellbeing of everyone, good or bad, without cherrypicking. that is what separates heroes from average nice person). So seriously everything about kuon is just illogical and bad narratively speaking :D

also, very importantly? Ego didn't complain about his goals being underhanded. That wasn't the issue. The issue was that we're trying to polish these strikers so they have a way to consistently score goals. Get the ball to Kunigami within his range? That's a shot on goal. Get the ball to Chigiri at a point where he can run at goal? That's a shot on goal. Get the ball to Isagi at a point where he can volley it? That's a shot on goal.
Kuon's trick, however, is fundamentally no different from a fluke. You did it once, you can't do it again, and if you can only do it if you also force your team to lose, then what's the point?
@@XCC23 ego doesnt care, they are all expendable to him in the first place as he is looking for that one insane striker. if team z gets stumped by this little stunt kuon pulled then the striker he is looking for is simply not in that team. Its not that he did not complain, matter of fact he did, he called kuon lowest of the low as a striker, if you ask me that is as big of a complaint as they come. Its just that even though he was complaining he still continued grading everyone the same. He requested of players to find their formula for goals, Kuon found his, the way ego sees it kuon simply did what was asked of him.
and just to clarify, when i say ego doesnt care i dont mean he is indiferent and not invested, i mean he is always looking at bigger picture and is calculated. he does not bother with petty stuff that is irellevant in his plan like he has a tunnel vision.

Ego's philosophy is that as a striker, you must be able to find your weapon, a reproducible method to score. You see Barou, for example. If he gets into range, he can shoot and score. His physique lets him get into range and hold onto the ball in range. Or Isagi now - Isagi's volley with his spatial awareness to be in the correct position for the goal.
But Kuon's goals *can't be pulled off in-game*. There's nothing about those goals that lends themselves to being reproduced. There's nothing either Kuon or the team can do on the field to let that weapon be used. That's why he's the lowest of the low. Not because he's a traitor, who cares about that, but because his goals are all flukes.

But he also said that as a striker kuon is lowest of the low. I did not mention ego commenting on kuon being traitor a single time so you are the one who does not pay attention and then filling the gaps randomly
