Lived there for a while 50 years ago, loved it. It has changed so much. We stayed for a while at the Malibu Hotel and later at La Lucia. Thank you for the memories
We hope to visit Durban in November this year. Will be coming off a cruise ship so will only have 5 days. One of the 5 days we will be doing a Safari with a local company. Thanks for showing me around before I even get there. Greetings from New Zealand( also a beautiful country with amazing beaches.)
Hi Marianna, that’s amazing! So glad you’re spending some time in Durban! We have a full KZN guide as well: ua-cam.com/video/rND4m2OxEWY/v-deo.html Where in NZ are you? We’ve also moved here 😅 we’re in Whangarei 😊
@@BeingBedingfield We are getting a lady from Bonana tours to take us on an overnight to do the Safari, also in StLucia to do a river cruise with a chance to see the crocs and Hippos.
What a great place to call home! Love it! I have to mention I truly appreciate the nice cuts, transitions and beautiful drone shots great job guys!!!!! As always fabulous video guys! ~Cara 😊
I am American and I have been to Durban six or seven times. I have seen or done just about everything you did in this video, save the overhead tram ride, and I still loved this video. I am looking to take holiday in January and Durban/Cape Town was number one on my list but Omicron has put the breaks on that. Lastly, once when in Durban I told a young lady that I loved her accent, (BTW I love both of your accents) she said, "I don't have an accent, you do."
Hi there, thanks so much for watching! Awesome that you've visited Durban, normally tourists only go to Cape Town or Joburg :) Omicron has really messed up so many people's travel plans :( Hopefully we can get back to normal soon! Haha...we really love hearing accents around us, and we're really missing it :(
Wow that looks like such a gorgeous stretch to walk, bike, or run down! AMAZING views! 😍I can see why you and your friends chose to hang out at North Beach every day. I can't believe that's what your winter weather is like! That cable car looked like a blast too! I haven't done one of those in ages. What a fun way to see the city
Thanks guys. Winter in Durban is amazing! If you don't like cold weather, then Durban is the place to live. We have beautiful sunny weather all year! There are so many beautiful beaches to choose from in Durban!
I was born in Durban but spent years 2-8 in England. When we moved back to Durbs we lived many years in the city Centre. Smith Street mostly. The city was beautiful then. It was clean and safe. Window shopping was a regular Sunday family activity to do after a Sunday roast. Garlicks was my favourite shop. But sadly, although the beachfront looks lovely, Smith and West Street look awful. I recently spent a couple of days with family who live in the Davenport area. My late Gran used to live in Davenport Square and it was beautiful back then. But the amount of household waste on the streets is dire. Even the condition of the roads and pavements is shocking. I live in Hibberdene now and we have a great community of locals who strive to keep it a "Tidy Town". Durban's city Centre needs that too.
Such a stunning city. One of my favorite things is just sitting on a beach at sunrise and watching all of the surfers. That shot at 16:20 is awesome! Good and fun video as always guys :)
You guys make the best youtube Durbs videos, you've captured this place I grew up in! Love the stories Chantz and Craig please tell more especially reminding me of the Gunston 500 beach during the day and the jolling at nights. Would love to see some umdloti, comrades experience, Duzi, rugby experiences, Rovers, Bunny Chow from Brittania. Cheers from Texas!
Hi Jon Thanks for watching all the way from Texas! When did you move there? Love all your suggestions, added to our list ✅ some will have to wait till after Covid unfortunately 🙈 even restaurants are closed at the moment 😭 but please let us know if you think of any other places 😁

As a biased Durbanite , I think durban's golden mile trump's Capetown all year round . I was standing on the moyo pier just today marveling at the calm ocean and stinging winter weather .😁🇿🇦✌️
I'd definitely love to go for a bike ride along the promenade! Such a nice activity. There seemed like a lot of restaurants and places to get food and drinks. I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to do the cable car, but the views were nice. I've never been on a rickshaw before. Great tips at the end! My hubby doesn't go anywhere without sunscreen!!
Ah the beautiful Durban beachfront 😍🌊 We miss it! All the sights and sounds in this video really made us feel like we were back home again, thank you for taking us with you! The rickshaw ride looked like such fun 😄 we definitely want to give that a try when we are in SA again 🇿🇦❤ Ending off with a swim is definitely the best way to end a day full of exploring the beachfront 😄
Nice to get some exercise on the bike while seeing all the beautiful sights of Durban at the same time! Nice you could get the gardens all to yourself! Glad you tried the rickshaw! Touristy things are tourist because they are fun. Always worth trying at least once!
