Burning Typhoon - I’ve been watching episodes over again lately. I swear, these shows are some of the BEST on UA-cam. Joe does such a great job editing and both Joe and Dave work So was together. The whole show idea is just great!
Resident Evil 5/6 is actually where "need another character to open the door" makes the most sense since it's coop-focused. It's more about making sure that both players feel ready. So one of the players will not be forced into explosive cutscene before collecting all the ammo because another one is rushing.
Agree. I like Game Sack, but sometimes they focus on such weird stuff and don't mention the 500 things that are good with the game they are reviewing/taking a look at. Like the Online-multiplayer in RE6 was so easy to use with it's drop in and drop out system that you always had a competent player with you. I actually miss that a lot. It's probably the most fun multiplayer-game I've played tbh.
The actual reason for any of it is to stream data and load in a new zone. The engine dumps all the data behind the player (usually), and loads in what’s behind the door. You can generally tell as conveniently, you can’t go back from any of these doors, like The Last Of Us’ 300 overhead doors that slam behind you.
This game literally crashed on me 100% of the time before the start up screen. I fucking hate it and super dissatisfied, disappointed and hope it gets DELISTED!

My birthday was soon so I asked for it assuming there would be lots more hours and content akin to my past FF experiences. Was so bummed when I finished it like a week after my bday, since I got games only twice a year on bday and Xmas. The battle song is still one of my top FF songs tho.
I hated mystic Quest back then! I already had quite some jrpg experience by time it dropped(Final Fantsay, Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy IV) and found Mystic Quest straight up insulting! I tried to revisit it recently, but I just can't do it. The icon-based map is just TOO much hand holding for me. There's meat and bone, and then there's incomplete skeleton. Mystic Quest is the latter XD Kickass soundtrack though! Holy... hang on to something cause you're about to be blasted away!

That was some dinosaur game from what I read, it was reskinned with the Starfox name last minute with some graphic changes to use the Starfox name to sell it.
The reason Tony Hawk 5 is considered the worst thing on the planet is not because it's a bad game, rather because it shipped on a basically empty bluray due to time constraints: 95% of the game had to be downloaded as a day one "patch", which makes it worthless as a collector item.
Acting is academy award winning at this point. No seriously though it's gotten better, the comedic timing an all is all improved, not that you guys werent funny before.
Nice to hear Joe defend Final Fantasy Mystic Quest and Phantasy Star 3. I think they get shit on too much in this day and age. And the former really was a great introduction into turn-based RPGs back then when I was only 5 or 6 years old.
I was bored to tears with MQ but I was 10 when it came out and understand its purpose was to bring in the younger crowd. I agree that PSIII was pretty good.

The weird thing is that JRPGs were already western computer RPGs of the time (now they are a very different animal) stripped of all (or most of) the bullshit frustrating stuff and adapted to console controls, but I guess by that time they assumed computers were unpopular for gaming in the western world like they were in Japan.
It really did feel insulting, haha. And as someone said, their precious JRPG genre is ripped straight out of the hands of Americans (Ultima, WIzadry, and the ever important roor influence of tabletop D&D). The nerve on you chodes from the land of the rising sun! Oh well, I can't stay mad at you, you make awesome games, haha
@@FinalBaton Maybe the people who made these games did not even know that RPG came from the west. It's a great game. But if gamers had the internet and the same toxic attitude back then as they do now, that would be the end of Mario, regardless of how good the game was.
Super Mario Bros 2 is an amazing game, and the excuse that is not a real Mario game is deprecated since Nintendo themselves started using elements from the game later on the franchise. And, in my opinion, is far better than Castlevania 2 and Zelda 2, the other weird sequels of the time.

It is "not bad". Just incredibly bland, generic with questionable design choices. The snow level is one the worst sections in the whole series. The t rex boss was really lame too.
Re6 was too ambitious and falls flat in so many ways. But I still love it, and I especially love the setting, story and characters. Moving the story to a global scale naturally makes sense at some point in the universe to happen. It could have been executed so much better though and imo Chris's campaign is the best of them all. If it didn't have the re name attached to it it would have been received better. Re7 on the other hand is a fantastic game with flaws of it's own. And it really doesn't feel attached to the re universe at all until almost the end of the game. It really feels like they shifted gears half way through development to make it an actual re game. @@28Pluto The criticism I've always heard is that it's too easy and simplistic compared to the other games in the series. They actually released it with the title "FF USA" in Japan, reinforcing the idea that American gamers were dumb and thus couldn't handle challenging games. I always thought that mindset of theirs was ironic given that the electronic computers used to program the games on were an American invention.
I love Phantasy Star III, glad you didn't entirely crap all over it. Kind of surprised you didn't mention the theme song when talking about the music though, it's such a beautiful underrated piece.
Phantasy star 3 started off as a side story or gaiden game. There's an interview in one of the genesis classics (ps3 iirc) that has one of the devs talking about it. If they just hadn't made it a mainline game I think people wouldn't shit on it as hard. Even though it did many things better than 2. Also the music is another thing people hate on. Yet the composer went on to do ps4 and knock that out of the park. Skyhaven? (Been a while since my last play through) song is probably my favourite track from the genesis.
Hokey Radio Voice: "Put your Wii remote controller up to your mouth and push the buttons to start playing music. When you're done, go up to the stage and accept your Grammy award, and if any reporters accuse you of being like Milli Vanilli, just say, 'Oh no, I prefer chocolate, thank you.'"

It's really no that bad overall.... It's just pretty bland compared to the other FF games of the era.
It was my first RPG and I loved it
When you are from Europe, the biggest surprise is that in North America, the game has "Final Fantasy" in it's title
Game Sack at 3:04am can’t get any better then this 😀
I haven't played Mystic Quest, but the soundtrack is great, I prefer it over most FF music.
Resident Evil 6 isn't really a Resident Evil game. Playing it is like having Michael Bay stand behind you forcing you to do QTE's.
I'd play Mystic Quest everyday over XIII, just saying...
@Jason Voorhees More like because I dont like walking sims ;)
That's not saying much.
@@cristokocinaro4013 "XIII" is more of a black sheep than mystic quest to me
I love Phantasy Star III, glad you didn't entirely crap all over it. Kind of surprised you didn't mention the theme song when talking about the music though, it's such a beautiful underrated piece.
Can you look at Godzilla Video Games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great episode guys! Thanks...I needed this tonight. Was a rough one.
Seahawks fan? 😿
Arkham knight.... It was an ok game but I think it was the weakest out of the bunch.
I feel like Gamesack is one of those channels you can upvote even before watching the content.
LMAO I love Mystic Defender! That was a great bit.
LOL to the radio helper voice.
Dave looked real amused playing wii music, that game looks like so much fun
Radio add-ins were genius.
You guys are awesome!! I was a Sega fan as a kid and watching alot of your videos is making me invest in an SNES to get games i missed out on
Nothing like some warm new Sack in my face 😂
I loved the idea of this episode, great job you guys!
This is a great episode. I love all the walkie talkie chatter in the reviews.
I'm sure this is appreciated but thank you Joe for the excellent subtitles. Im not deaf but my hearing is not great and I am very happy with your excellent captions
At least Bionic Commando *insert metal sound effect here* got the jump you wanted, even if at the expense of the fun. *"Next!"*
Love the radio chatter stuff. Lol. Great.
Your vids always come out later in the day. Perfect time. Away from the trash
