END THE FED. Gold is money. Only down 40-45 percent on my position. In explorers/developers this is a big WIN! Long FFMGF.

So Dan Quayle's son moved into copper mining? Cool.

    5 indigenous communities around Springpole??
Smells problematic. One seems problematic enough, but 5... in theory one of them could oppose the whole project and then it's game over.
No wonder the share isn't moving.
How big a risk are First Nations halting mining projects completely in Canada?

Keep in mind that First Nations also benefit greatly from developing the mines. These regions are very poor, have bad infrastructure, no good road networks and suffer from a lot of poverty related problems, lack of jobs etc. They will all come together on a plan where everyone benefits. The First Nations will get good jobs and economic opportunities, new infrastructure and roads, and the government will get massive tax revenues. Its a win/win/win when they work together.

Obviously. But that logic didn't apply back in February with the Cat Lake First Nations. And that was just over a temporary winter road
      So the question remains
Do any of the 5 First Nations around Springpole have legal power to shut down the project for any reason whatsoever, or not?

@@mana7412 First of all, we need to realize that the temporary winter road was a completely separate issue from the entire EA process the company is doing with the government. Cat Lake has been wishing for a new permanent road for a long time and it will now be incorporated into the mining plan as far as I know. The Chief has said many times they are not at all against development on their lands, they just want to be included in the process. They have every bit of interest to get this mine developed as well because it will enable a lot of good things for them in the future. First Mining has done a lot of work with Cat Lake and they are working together now on the community's own assessment. But in the end, the government/ministry decides which projects get the EA permits and we already know the government strongly supports Springpole. I really believe everyone in the region will benefit greatly from this mine so they will build it.
