15:10 What are your essential games? - Ігри
This list is awesome. I'm so used to people saying essential games are games nobody has heard of. We own all of these except Summoner Wars and Crokinole. We own them, because they are good and essential. None in my top ten, but mine will leave our connections. Really enjoyed this, thanks for doing it.
Great list. I would have Wingspan, Cascadia, Tichu, Qwirkle, Castles Of Burgundy, Cartographers, Obsession, Le Havre, Great Western Trail, Sleeping Gods.
Good list!
I'll have a crack at it. My games are relatively easy to explain and scale well at different player counts.
-The Crew (traditional card game)
-Just One (easy party game, always a better time than Codenames in my experience)
-Marvel Splendor (entry engine building)
-Dice Forge (engine building dice game with an awesome gimmick)
-Carcassonne (shared board tile laying)
-Cascadia (own board tile laying)
-Crokinole (haven't played it, but insert cool dexterity game here)
-The Isle of Cats (for family and advanced modes versatility)
-Quest for El Dorado (best deckbuilding game, more fun and easier than Clank for me)
-Concordia Venus (midweight euro pick, scales better than Castles of Burgundy)
Didn't find a spot for Kingdomino sadly because of Cascadia, Isle of Cats and Carcassonne. You can see I love tile laying, particularly for versatile entry level games that are satisfying for gamers as well.
I'd say Azul. It's the single best, most addictive abstract I've ever played, but it's super-easy to teach and learn. I mean, I don't even really LIKE abstracts, but I love Azul - that says something.
It was definitely on the short list
These will be mine: Codenames, Just One, Cascadia, Azul, The Quacks of Quedlinburg, 7 Wonders, Dixit, The Resistance, SCOUT, Telestrations
Mine would be Robot Quest Arena, Flamecraft, The Fox Experiment, Terra Mystica, Scythe, Summoner Wars, Survive Escape From Atlantis, Dixit, Snow Tails, and Sheriff of Nottingham.
Very cool thanks 🤪👑😘
Just a suggestion: in future videos if the numbers don't matter as in ranking, do them in normal order starting from #1. this way viewers would know that the games are not in a particular order when they see the order of numbers and it won't be necessary to explain this every time.
Assuming that this list is aimed towards people who are not "Gamer" gamers and don't already have these in their collection or know about them (based on the fact that almost all of these games are on the lighter side and are kind of representatives of a genre, as suggested to those beginner level gamers who have a fairly small collection of games and want it to be as diverse and comprehensive as possible - as opposed to advanced gamers who, to be real, have already known their taste and don't care much about having essential games suggested to them), I would argue that Summoner Wars doesn't fit the list due to it's complexity.
Great list! I don’t think it’s essential for everyone to own a Crokinole board because of the cost, but I would agree that it’s essential that everyone try it!
That being said, Summoner Wars is the only one I don’t own from your list. I may have to check it out at some point!
Terrific list.
Excellent list! I have all other than Crokinole (not sure I have space) and Summoner Wars. I would likely add Lords of Waterdeep, Cascadia, Sushi Go Party (for larger groups) and Wingspan.
Pretty much agree, good list
Man, great list! I have every game on here whether it's the exact version or one of the reimplementations. I don't have nor have I played Crokinole though. That's the only one. I keep hoping that one day an affordable board goes to crowdfunding.
thanks 😊
This is a great list, but I find it funny how many of these I've owned, enjoyed, and gotten rid of. I try to have a slim collection though.
Great list over all, only one I'd disagree with is the crew. that game was a miss for me and ai would ALWAYS just rather play Hearts or Spades with classic old school deck of cards. Or anything else with a normal deck of cards. My brother and family liked it so gifted them the game.
Dang. I own all these!
Not a bad list… I would also suggest: Just One, Qwirkle, Ticket to Ride, Catan, and Twilight Imperium 4th edition…. LOL j/k
Have you tried the warcraft version of pandemic?
Yes, I enjoy it. The Star Wars version uses a similar system as well.
Summoner Wars alone have variety of play. Insert Unmatched and Dice throne and you will play for a lifetime with your friends 😊
Unmatched is my all time favorite game, was hard leaving it off of here.
Dune Imperium (umspring)
Too many bones
Imperium classic etc
Roll the galaxy
Apiary
Magic the gathering
Marvel campions
Guildball
Everdell
Hadrians Wall
Nobody should have any game. Nobody owes you living a game you like. Nobody has to like any specific style or mechanic or theme or anything. Any list of essentisl games is ridiculous and really really wtf
