Looks similar to the Neil Pryde Firefly I’ve been riding for the past few months, the difference, Firefly boom included. To be fair the Duotone has handle/boom options, credit for offering these at a sensible price. The longer bag when the boom is fitted works well when pack down has been mastered.
yes, we sell the wing without handles/booms so customers can choose what they prefer - the wing itself is actually cheaper than 2024 models, the handles/booms are fairly low cost at 99€ so overall only a small increase from 2024 to 2025 for a fully updated new wing. And packing size is good yes, when simply rolled from end to end, it's a slightly longer but much narrower package.
I love the 2024 Duotone Slick and before. Being able to separate the wing from the boom for storage allows you to avoid damaging it when it is in its bag. Also having a more compact bag. You can have a single boom for several wings. Also the bladder section is smaller and inflates faster. For me this is a step backwards.
Hi there, the actual size of the bag is similar with handles vs Unit. For the boom alternative, the package size is narrower and longer, effectively takes the same amount of space as the more "square bag". Wing itself is cheaper than the 2024 Wing, the boom is 99€ vs nearly 300€ Slick boom. In total a 2-4% increase, without having to remove the boom, which is oval, thinner, lighter - one size boom fits all wings from 3.5-6.5. But the Slick is still there, the 2024 model is available, so if you feel more comfortable using those, the option is there.
@@duotone.wingfoiling I love the Slick. I have it in 4, 5, 6 and 7m (model 2022). You can see it in my videos ua-cam.com/video/bgLvS938Rlo/v-deo.html. The question is: Will there be a 2025 Slick or just the Unit with Boom?
Hi there, good to hear you like the Slick, many happy Slick customers out there for sure. Right now it would seem that the new Unit does cover a very big range of use, but a final decision has not been made yet, we are working hard on new Wings for Spring too.
@@duotone.wingfoiling Thanks. I hope that there will be a 2025 slick in the end, because for me it is a unique wing on the market. It has the possibility of removing the boom quickly without screws and sharing it with the entire wing set. It has a thin central strut, not as fat as those that share a boom and rigid handles. And also, in my spot, many people use it because they have seen it in my last videos or because I have recommended it to them.
Hi there, well if you get a chance to try the new Unit, as well as to check the packing size, then let us know - so far only positive reviews. Remember the Wing price is reduced from 2024 which was supplied with handles, the boom/handle sets cost 99€, so overall only a small price increase allowing each wing to be equipped and ready with a boom if you choose that option - less setup time, with a much more ergonomic and shorter boom too - also helps with packing/travel.
