      I think what he most likely felt was accomplished and happy that they now understood
      Not everyone is like you kids nowadays who just want to rub everything in people's faces when you accomplish something and shxt on people
      And they didn't cut his wings off and even if they did, it was for good reasoning, that was years ago when probably you didn't even know about twitch and esports wasn't that famous so undoubtedly parents are gonna want their kids to go to school and not just persue something so uncertain

    not exactly the same, but I was pursuing Roblox development since I was a teenager, parents and family never took it seriously no matter what money I made. as soon as I got a full time salaried position, they see my online job as a "real" profession. now I work for myself once more and make 5x what that salary was, but people take me seriously now. had to go through the paperwork, I guess... it proves your success matters to more people than just you.

      before this part of the story he left home because his step dad was not really happy with this whole career in cybersport, so they didn't ignore, just couldn't do much at this point

    Thats how parents who are born in the 60s 70s are , they dont know jack shit about videogames and streaming so ofcourse they wont care or wont approve of it. Though in the next 20 years when people like xqc become parents then those career choices for their children will be more accepted.

      It's not really that they don't know jack shit it's that they had no vision of the future that thing would turn out to be so big. No one could really expect the video gaming and streaming industries to grow so big and actual have good money to earn behind them.

      Not necessarily, parents born in the 70's can be the ones that grew up on arcade or the first home consoles or computers, atari, commodore and so on. While streaming might be foreign, videogames would definitely not be

      @@thomassilia7306 no it’s the types of video games and the culture that’s behind them that has changed. Almost all of those game systems had single player casual games only. People only saw video games as a waste of time or a pass time, never as a way to do anything in life. But now-a-days we have highly competitive multiplayer games where people have honed their talents and skills for years to win money. So things have definitely changed

      cause they want to see you become something in life they want to see you prove them wrong especially if its something like in xqcs place where they dont understand it or its something new to them and when the see the results thats when they happy cause bruh many people have had what you wanna do work a nine to 5 at mcdonalds following love and majority of the time it never works out in the long run they just dont wanna see you make the wrong decisions and thats why they hard on you this generation just to soft and takes that in a completely wrong way

I know a few people who work there and have their own apartment and are still in their teens. Is it a shitty job? Yes. But everyone starts somewhere. Honestly, where I'm located McDonalds has a decent pay.

    Thats alright, I'm a full-time Security Officer for a Federal building and love my job yet my parents, and in-laws dont consider it a "real job" and constantly ask if and when I'm going to get a "better" job. Just do you and ignore the negativity.

      @@Roman-gy7pr yeah lol I literally don't get it. I think it mostly has to do with my yearly income is currently only 40k and I guess they think thats not enough to live on but.... I do just fine really. I think if you don't have a job that you went to college for then they don't consider it a real job. So like they are a mechanic, engineer, teacher and hair dresser. They all went to school in order to get degrees and certifications in order to get those jobs and I was fortunate enough to know someone who was in charge and they gave me a chance and now I can use my experience to go even further up in this field without schooling.

But I do understand that you are probably from the US, so the prices there are very different (and you have to pay for healthcare). Anyway, what I'm trying to say is - if you're able to affort what you need and have the opportunity to climb, then you shouldn't really care about what they think.       One could argue that getting love and affection is a basic human need aswell. Even though there are plenty cases of people that don't have that, yet do want it and make it their goal to become a better person or whatever they need to do to achieve said goal. It's all about perception.
      Also, in most western countries theres a social "net" that allows people that don't do anything to still survive. All be it in a small apartment with little food etc. But it's enough for the basic needs.
      So technically you could just live your life out like that.

      @SharkTank you should watch the Dr.K interview with X. He talks about how he kept being excited by how many subs he had and his dad would just shut him down and he would be bummed out. Its like not being friends with someone for a long time and then they become rich and all of a sudden you're all buddy buddy. If someone is passionate about something you shouldnt care how much money it generates, especially when it benefits someone else and THEN all of a sudden its fine

    This is the thing I like about XQC, he understands from the parents point of view, he isn't like those people that say fk you're parents or people who don't support your certain goals or what not, he understood that it wasn't a sure thing and it was even a more unsure thing in their eyes

X was in a good enough position to where they didn’t really care but most parents will drag down their kid and demotivate them to try to get them to focus on something they think is worth their kids time
