I listened this great cover from Pagans Mind a year ago more or less, and I grew listen Merciful Fate and King Diamond, have to say this is the best cover I ever heard!
There is another cover Nils did with Eidolon (my back pocket band), Mercyful Fate - The Oath. He sounds uncanny, and they got the original guitarists to do the solo's. Eidolon -Parallel Otherworld - The Oath
This legitimately sounds almost identical to the original one, if I didn't know it was a cover, I could believe this was a KD rehearsal, live or something.
wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow this is absolutely 10/10 pagans mind rocks i need to have an album of them thisis the first time i hear them
Sounds like something Cradle of Filth would come up with, but hell, anything Pagans Mind does is phenomenal and I love what they did with this. I defy anyone to top this singer, though.
Left to right: Steinar Krokmo (bass), Jorn Viggo Loftstad (guitar), Nils K Rue (vocals), Ronny Tegner (keys), Stian Kristoffersen (drums). You obviously have not heard PM do a PM song lol, to each their own, but these guys never fail to impress. Even the biggest Dream Theater fans will admit these guys bleed power and feeling, in studio and live! Rather than ooze technical ability and ego. Peace
@PennyDreadful1 i think i would be 100 times more scared of a ..."Sinister demonic jester" than your regular run of the mill demon... wouldnt u? But i'd still have a beer with both!
Yea u can love the original, but in terms of raw vocal power in both head voice/falsetto Nils owns King in every aspect. Dont get me wrong , i love both bands :)
A great cover if anything of a cover this sounds really perfect, but ofc a cover can never truly better than the original. It has a better clearer sound to it you can say that.
Very good cover, but I actually like the drumming from the original better. The symbol splash in between measures gives a sense of urgency to certain parts, but overall I guess that's just nitpicking. Outstanding cover all the same.
Well, his falsetto works perfectly with his stories on his albums, allows him to do lines for female parts and all that. Also, he still manages to make it sounds awesome. Also, I would like to see other vocalists due the demonic lows and falsetto like he does. His range isn't necessarily wider than some, but he does so much more within that range, so why should it matter?
Not to be rude I love King Diamond but his range is hugely overstated. He doesnt go that much higher than other multi octave metal vocalists. He uses alot of pure falsetto which makes his high notes shriller and thinner.
This has a much better production value than the original, and the vocalist is doing a great job. He is not King Diamond though, sorry. The original is far better. But a very decent cover, dont think there are many who can sing like this on a regular basis :)
The vocals (vibrato, highs, falsetto, word passages,EVERYTHING),instruments, production and everything are far superioir in the cover. The original just cant be matched bcs is the original, nothing more. I love both Mercyful Fate and King Diamond, but you people need to stop being a fanboys and start looking onto things objectivley ;)
If you actually believe the stuff you just wrote I'm just gonna assume you're a Pagan's Mind fanboy, cause the only thing "better" about it is the production, and even THAT only counts if you like ultra-clean production rather than something with a little more bite to it.
I like king's version better. It was faster, and these guitarists are lackluster, worse so than king's. Plus, that dude on the right wierds me out. Also, when the bass plays that note after king says 'there are things I must know' is the best part of the song, and these guys left it out. Good vocals, though. I like that the drums are heavier, too.
You can sound more female without using falsetto. Yeah well he is good! Sounds more like a creepy smiling jester than a scary demon though. Yeah I think i got it there! The type of jester who sets up plays and does all the female voices in a ridiculous falsetto. A sinister demonic Jester maybe.
Finally.... a decent cover of the king. I love it.
What a fantastic cover!!! Loved the vocals!!
One of the best, most respectful covers in metal. They absolutely nailed it, right down to the little details
the best cover i ever heard!
I listened this great cover from Pagans Mind a year ago more or less, and I grew listen Merciful Fate and King Diamond, have to say this is the best cover I ever heard!
greatest cover of a song ever made by any band in history of music
Amazing 🎸👋💪
CONGRATULATIONS!!!, this is a great KING DIAMOND'S cover, thanks for share... .ok.
Holy shit, this is a hell of a cover. Props to these guys!
Dang, Sounds just like the original!
wow great cover
Guitar Solo by special guest: Gus G. ;)
Awesome cover!
There is another cover Nils did with Eidolon (my back pocket band), Mercyful Fate - The Oath. He sounds uncanny, and they got the original guitarists to do the solo's.
Eidolon -Parallel Otherworld - The Oath
I do not care what arguments anybody has if they are not in favour of this incredible band I am not listening ;)
This legitimately sounds almost identical to the original one, if I didn't know it was a cover, I could believe this was a KD rehearsal, live or something.
THIS IS METAL.
temazo del rey y pedazo de cover.../n/

i am singer and metal and rock fan since 1977.This is 1000 much better than original.Greetz from Holland.
sick falsetto style just like kings... where is this band from?
Norway
Not entirely up to par with King's outstanding voice, but it's definitely one of the best covers I've heard. Kudos to the vocalist for the attempt.
Srry but i never heard about u guys but after hearing this I will :)
Ol king would approve😈
Love the fuckin drum sound.. AWSOME..
I think I like this better than the original
me too
fuck yea pagan's mind are awsome
@PennyDreadful1 i think i would be 100 times more scared of a ..."Sinister demonic jester" than your regular run of the mill demon... wouldnt u? But i'd still have a beer with both!
Spinach rising from the grave :)))

@Kysos2 Neither does King really. He just used like reverb from an emerson machine is what he told me when I asked him years ago.
A great cover if anything of a cover this sounds really perfect, but ofc a cover can never truly better than the original. It has a better clearer sound to it you can say that.
Not quite covering King Diamond's range, but its definitely the best attempt i've heard.. very nicely done.
honestly, i couldnt really tell the difference from this and the original. thats how you know its a good cover. thumbs up
Very good cover, but I actually like the drumming from the original better. The symbol splash in between measures gives a sense of urgency to certain parts, but overall I guess that's just nitpicking. Outstanding cover all the same.
sound good to me
nawwww....King is waaay better!

i love this albu, if you guys are wondering, its not that rare, its on itunes...
1000 times better than the original.Hail from Holland from A THE V.
True.
Ofc it can.
This is superior in every way, both vocaly and instrumentaly.
lmao.
Nils is God.
THE ORIGINAL IS THE GREATEST U FOOLS!!! NOONE CAN BEAT THE KING !!!! its ok.. but cant touch the original
not a bad cover at all
Not to be rude I love King Diamond but his range is hugely overstated.
He doesnt go that much higher than other multi octave metal vocalists.
He uses alot of pure falsetto which makes his high notes shriller and thinner.
This is like the only good King Diamond cover
you guys killed it.....and I am very picky

good cover but original is definitely better
the drumming part sucks..no clarity no spaces just double bass fillups all the time...damn no respect for Mickey Dee guys????
They outdid the original!
lets not get crazy
Shit, that guy on the left creeps me out too.
I like king's version better. It was faster, and these guitarists are lackluster, worse so than king's. Plus, that dude on the right wierds me out. good cover, but its not better than original.
original better
It beats the original hands down.
it's an alright, but only King really does his style justice.. Original is better IMO
I wouldn't say this is a "very good cover". It's not BAD, but it sounds very note for note. No originality to it.
pretty much the same than the original, expect with the fact that this one really sucks.
No. That's just dreadful.
