Our grandson plays at University of Miami and has been in baseball since he was five. Always have appreciated the game myself but watching these pitches coming in makes you respect how awesome high level baseball players really are! It is truly the hardest thing in sports just to contact a ball like that let alone put it in play.
As a father of a now 15 year old kid here in Houston that’s seen a lot of baseball, CJ is by far one of the better all around players that my son has played against. His pitching is plus plus and just on another level…his ranking speaks for itself.
That kid did a great job catching that filth. especially when aside from a few hitters who he asked what pitch they wanted, he was just guessing as Trevor is picking the sequencing.
Astros fan and Bauer fan. Would love for you to join our staff when you’re back in action. Keep grinding brother and keep that head high. Every set back makes for a bigger & better comeback.
Your channel is making me want to get interested in baseball Mr. Bauer. I grew up with a German mom so soccer was what I really wanted to do except in po-dunk Missouri we didn't have any soccer. I played pee-wee league a few summers, pretty good fielder-atrocious batter so I'd just draw walks and steal bases. (Easy to do with wild 10 year old pitchers lucky to hit the fence behind the catcher.) I had a terrible 'Winner's Choice' plastic glove at first and bless my mom, she told my Dad I needed a new glove and deserved one for all of the fieldwork I'd done on the farm that spring. The new glove was actual leather, boosted my confidence and I caught 3 outfield fly balls and even got moved to shortstop that night. Playing catch with Dad to break in my new glove is another good memory I have-all thanks to our National Pastime. You do it much credit along with showing you're a pretty good dude on this channel.
The over the shoulder view is so great at showing pitch tunneling and movement. It really highlights one of the problems with the MLB in that each broadcast team can chose the camera angle, and the same pitch by the same pitcher, in two different broadcasts can look wildly different. Views like this feel more exciting because you can get a feel for why a pitch "fooled" a batter or made them chase so badly.
I don't know that there's a practical way to get this angle in a live game though. Even with a long lens. You'd run into depth-of-field and focal plane issues.
4:35 whatever u like 🤣 then a UFO flies in sideways and lands for a bullseye. Heck of a father's day! Its great to see you lacing up and showing up to make these kids' day!! Man you got so many great years left to throw gas and break records. Cant wait to see you on the mound in Japan. ⚾

I’m not the person mentioned in the video but I am an Astros fan that likes and respects Trevor Bauer. My dream scenario is Bauer for Astros pitching coach once his playing days are over.
Amazed an 8th grader had the guts to stand in there. 99.9 % of people don't realise how fast this is and how much it hurts to get hit by one of these fastballs. I read somewhere that major league players who used to consistently get hit would say they were screaming in pain inside but could never let their opponent know it. That was in the 70's when pitches could consistently hit players with no reprecussions.
Think this was the best video, been watching your UA-cam channel, looking to buy some murch. You an awesome dude. Also an Astros fan in Houston. Keep up the Trevor movement I'm all in.
It’s so funny watching your UA-cam videos because you just seem and act like a normal person, but I keep forgetting you are very rich and one of the best pictures in baseball.
Nasty pitching. Wish could come by my son's high school and show him some of that change up and slider. Eldorado HS, Las Vegas. If ever in town. They practice all year. At least 4 days a week.
I’m an Astros fan; and over the past couple months, I’ve basically subscribed or followed all of your accounts. So put me down as an Astros and Trevor Bauer fan. We miss you in the mlb.
I'm a 47 year old semi pro player (MSBL). No joke. A car accident in high-school ruined any chance of a MLB career. I still hit 70 in the cages from both side of the plate. I still wonder if I could hit top level pitching. I've seen some in the local area and fair pretty well. The competitive side still thinks I'm in my teens/ 20's. Still love a good duel with a pitcher. would love the honor for going a few rounds with a pitcher who made it to the show. I'm confident I could hang. 😌
Keep your head up, Trevor. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and we can ALL see it. Looks like your spirits are still high. Hope to see you back out soon.
