I watched a lot of biographies, with out a doubt this is one of the best and heart warming I ever watched. Bruno is the true meaning of what a son should thrive to be for his parents. This man is pure class . I only wish I was old enough to have watched him but I think I remember seeing him as a commentator with Vince . I do remember seeing David wrestle but I didn’t know his background or the meaning of his last name. All I can say what a great guy Bruno is.
Worth the watch in it’s entirety.
    RIP champ .

Amen brutha! I am Portuguese, my dad is a old-school union Mason. He destroyed his back for his wife and kids. Can't enjoy retirement 😑... but we can relate to Bruno. Family is everything. Now compare him to the other degenerate wrestlers. Lol

I cannot begin to express my sadness after learning of Bruno's death. He was a role model and an icon to so many of us growing up in the Bronx back in the 1960's and 70's. I can't recall how many times we would go down to MSG on a Monday night to see him take on Gorilla Monsoon, or Prof Tanaka, or Hans Mortier, or Ernie Ladd, the list goes on and on. More than his endless list of his defeated opponents I recall his humbleness and his soft spoken tones when he was interviewed by various announcers. He always had a message to his younger fans, to stay away from drugs and alcohol, to work out, to stay healthy. Bruno, you have been and will always remain, the Living Legend to so many of us who loved and admired you,

Bruno was my first sports hero. My brother would take me every month to MSG. Thankfully Bruno appeared on every card. My greatest thrill was being in attendance when Bruno won the title for the second time. I remember how emotional I got. Screaming, yelling and yes crying, I was able to touch Bruno on his shoulder as he headed back to the dressing rooms. There will never be another soul who worked so hard and gave so much not only to his family, but his fans as well. A truly humble gentleman.
Thank you so much for being such a talented and caring human being. You will always have a place in the hearts of your fans.

Bruno was indeed a legend in the sport. He was honest, strong and eager. No other pro sport could produce such a dedicated athlete. People like myself, spent many hours waiting to watch Bruno appear on our screens. He was the best. Having heard of his recent passing was not easy for this boomer. In fact, I've spent the last many hours, watching his films, to have learned more since my youth about the Champ, that everything else, has since been minimized. Thank you the Sammartino family for all you have done and endure. From a long and true fan, Gary Marquis.

I'm such a fan of old school wrestling. Even though I'm only 23 and Bruno was already retired for decades when I watched my first wrestling match, once I saw some old matches in MSG I knew this was the stuff that really fascinated me. The smoky arenas, the super mixed crowds, the presentation of wrestling as a legitimate sport. I wish I could have experienced it, instead of the lame childish comedy skits where adults act like children, with Brazzers-level acting.
I've always tried to watch every shoot interview with Bruno, and tried to read as much about him as possible. To me Bruno is just far more interesting than any of the wrestlers who are active today. He was also a true gentleman. I wish I could have met him. I would have loved to talk to him about his incredible life and career. He was wrestling's true living legend, and he is missed. Rest in peace, champ.

You know....it's funny...I was thinking about this; THEY JUST DON'T MAKE GUYS LIKE BRUNO ANYMORE. Integrity, respect, morals, this is GONE from this society and generation. Yes it all fell on deaf ears and look what we have? This is true in every aspect of AMERICAN LIFE. We've gone down and there is no return. But I discovered there is a whole world out there to start over or do things different. I appreciate MEN like Bruno but I don't fool myself, they are mostly dead or dying.

First of all, the 59 people who voted thumbs down need to have a submission hold put on all of them,
give up, then stretchered back to the locker room, taken to the hospital by local ambulance & then
have frontal lobotomies done to all of them. In wrestling parlance. Just kidding about all that.
To each his own they say.
This is a great documentary about Bruno! On a par with the one he did with Larry Richert a few years
later. On that one they both went over to Abruzzo Italy, retraced Bruno's hometown growing up.
They were debuting a statue put up for Bruno, too. But this docu hits harder than that one did.
Growing up in Pgh as a young lad in the late 1960s, my grandmother (who was born in 1886) stayed with us living out her final years. She was just about bedridden. She was a big wrestling fan, watched Studio Wrestling religiously on Ch11 every Saturday at 6 PM & loved Bruno. Bruno was her favorite.
I would go to the monthly matches at The Civic Arena when I could & enjoyed them immensely.
I would then describe all the matches to her in her room, how they went etc when I got home later, usually.
She would perk up more, wide eyed, be more attentive when I would get to & describe the Bruno match to her.
I would say things like, i.e, "Killer Kowalski then hit Bruno with a chair a few times from behind and he got disqualified." Or throw in other any major villian's name back then. She would usually say, "Oh that dirty dog, he did that, really to Bruno. That dirty dog." Bruno matches with shenanigans brought that usual typical kind of answer from her.
This video brought back many memories & me of her back then. Thank you. :)

One thing I learned from section (2:17:00-2:17:10) is
"Speak the truth even if you're alone doing so"
How many wrestlers under the age of 50 have died in the past 20 years from anabolic steroids and drug abuse? I can name a few:
    Kurt Henning
    Lance Cade
    Terry Gordy
    Kris Kanyon
    Mike Awesome
    Davy Boy Smith
    Brian "Krush" Adams
    Eddie Guerrero
    Chris Benoit
    Louie Spicolli
    Chris Candido

    Ian Rotten
    Balls Mahoney
and the list goes on and on and on

You have to appreciate performers and their families from Brunos era. This sacrificed so much cause back then if you didn't work your didn't get paid. Now days the superstars have guaranteed contracts. They make money on their merchandise sales. Some get deals on other ventures. Back then you had to be on the road to get paid

My respect to this man is beyond just entertainment it's self! I remember growing up in the 1970's wether life was going well or bad, this man would make an 8 yr old boy feel special and happy at least two Saturdays a month. Going to the Capital Center in Landover Maryland to see Bruno Sammartino wrestling the likes of Ernie Ladd, Ken Patera , Super Star Billy Graham, Ivan Koloff , Crippler Ray Stevens, Bruiser Brody and many "Villians" of that era. It was a great time between my favorite Uncle ,Me and My brother's and sister's on those special evening’s. I was always amazed by his agility and quickness for his weight and size. This drove Me to get almost every wrestling magazine with him on the cover. Wow was He photogenic! RIP GREAT CHAMPION OF ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE UNDERDOGS IN LIFE". God has his champion joining his Angels in Heaven!

    A mother's Love , super unconditional ..
That Tuffness nd resilience Bruno held , inherent from his mom .
Such a gem the way Mr. Sammartino articulates himself.

I have heard the mother and others hiding in the mountains from Nazis in many interviews. And that Nazi's did climb or travel up mountain where they were but they were never found. However, the portion which 2 or so Nazi's did find them and lined them up to be taken out...Ive never heard that part before. Incredible.

I'm not the first to say this, but this guy is bigger than wrestling itself.
