Mainly the number of vulnerabilities Nessus can find verses OpenVAS. I believe openVAS can look for something like 25k potential issues, but Nessus is double that. There are a lot of problems with Nessus too though.. its just the best out of the bunch really.
@@TurvSecI am having issues with my Nessus scanner.. After powering on my Ubuntu, Metasploitable, and Owasp, I couldn’t get the scanner to pick up their IP addresses.. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.. However, when I scan my home network, I am able to see that scan..Please help..
L1 and L2 refers to the guidelines the audit follows. L1 is guidelines to lower the attack surface of a host and L2 is defence in depth. So you can you either L1 or L2

when you are doing a Windows OS scan and you check your windows properties you can find the os version but how do i know if L1 or L2
