Ingenious design Ozzy. Really impressive, rugged and functional. I've got to make one.
    Maybe a great home industry.

Nice work. But i think You want it to drop "prematurely". It should not contact with the fletching at all. It should have a spring pushing it forward and your draw sets it upwards. So when you release it drops before the fletching gets to it. Once the arrow has its initial speed you do not want to interfere with it at all. That"s why it called as Drop- Away.

This is going to sound stupid, but roll with it. Design a slingbow to side-shoot for accuracy. It is true for regular slingshots and will be true for a slingbow as well. It becomes MUCH easier to aim doing it this way, and is also ergonomic as your wrist is in a much stronger position in relation to your arm. The two bands, when lined up as one in your vision tell you exactly where (vertically) the sling will shoot, leaving just elevation (horiontal) as the variable, instead of both when held the usual way. A flip down arrow rest should work great if the notch is centered to the bands.

That’s much nicer than my attempt prototype I found thick heavy gauge resistance bands to give decent power but haven’t been able to make or find something to brace the forearm because drawing that sucker back is tough on the wrist. Great design mate! 👍🏽

My favorite rest i made was from a go pro clip and a rubberband and a industrial ziptie. My frame is the fishin one with the springs heavily modified .

I found it in the video very good speak to you and easy to understand I think I will give this a go I would like the idea of it at the moment I'm using a bow which sometimes it's quite difficult to handle it's quite high powered I've been looking at options how much is idea for taking out small rabbits on so4 also it would be good to use for fishing and I think the design would last more longer than the normal gadgets that are available so therefore let's see how this goes

Its easy to see the sound beats the arrow to the target. But if hunting at close range out to 50 feet. The quarries reaction time better be instant.....an elegant and serious weapon Great for survival situation

I would like to point out a flaw in your design. please check it out on what I'm saying
you remove the Factory rubber wrist wrap and replaced it with 550 cord correct. now I am assuming that your intention are if something was to happen. you would have cordage on your slingshot to help you in the survival ordeal. but if something was to happen and you remove the 550 cord you have just luminated your wrist support your wrist can no longer support the slingshot when you draw the band back this is going to debilized your slingbow and accuracy will suffer drastically
remember most everything you do to it has a counter-reaction for example adding the rubber coating does make it look better it also adds additional weight no it may not seem like much but a few ounces here and a few ounces there have now turned into pounds that you could shed from your pack weight over saving your back a lot of pain a over time a
