    The scary part is we had the science in the 80's. If CO2 continues to climb so will the temperature. Greed ignored the science. We are now seeing with our own eyes that increased warming is changing climates around the world. People say "climates have been changing for millions of years". If you notice a climate changing in a single lifetime that change is happening at lightning speed geologically speaking. Climate systems are like a canoe on a river. When Anthropogenic warming began the canoe started to lean to one side. As the world continued to warm the canoe leaned more. Since we are seeing climates changing the canoe has "tipped" over and it does not stabilize until it is upside down.

      Actually the same thing happened around 1000 years ago. That's how the Vikings reached Canada, all the ice in the North Sea was melted. It was called the Great Warming Period. It was followed by a mini ice age. The mini ice age happened the same time that the black death broke out in Ukraine while the Mongols were invading. It's what stopped the Mongols from invading Europe and it helped make the Black death less severe. It's called aburbt climate change. Maybe you could learn some history instead of just pretending like everything is new or that the world is ending.

    Isn't there a huge problem that any hardship and sacrifice we make to reduce emissions will yield no tangible benefit/change for about 10 years, as the feedback process is slow. In a consumerist world we have become accustomed to any need or desire being instantly gratified so this may make the sacrifices required very difficult to sell.

    Artificial intelligence (AI) can play a crucial role in combating climate change by offering innovative solutions to regulate temperatures and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Here are some examples of AI solutions that can help regulate temperatures in relation to the issue of global warming:
    Forecasting and management of renewable energies: AI can be used to predict the production of renewable energies such as solar and wind energy, which are inherently intermittent. By using machine learning models, forecasts can be improved, enabling better integration of renewable energy sources into the power grid. This helps balance the supply and demand of electricity, contributing to the regularization of energy consumption.
    Optimization of energy consumption: AI can analyze energy consumption patterns in buildings, industries, and cities. By identifying energy inefficiencies, AI can recommend adjustments to reduce energy consumption, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with electricity production.
    Smart agriculture: AI can monitor and predict agricultural conditions, such as periods of drought or flooding. By identifying optimal times for planting, irrigating, or harvesting, farmers can better manage their crops to maintain yields while avoiding excessive water and resource use, helping regulate agricultural ecosystems and mitigate the impact of climate change.
    Advanced climate modeling: AI can improve the accuracy of climate models by incorporating a larger amount of data and optimizing model parameters. More accurate climate models help better understand long-term climate trends and identify high-risk areas for adaptation measures.
    Monitoring and prevention of natural disasters: AI can help monitor extreme weather events such as hurricanes, earthquakes, and floods. By analyzing real-time data, AI can more accurately predict hurricane trajectories or estimate the potential damage caused by a natural disaster. This enables better preparedness, strengthens infrastructure resilience, and saves lives.
    Intelligent transportation: AI can contribute to improving transport efficiency by optimizing routes, promoting public transportation, and facilitating the adoption of autonomous electric vehicles. More efficient mobility helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector.
    These examples demonstrate how the judicious use of artificial intelligence can contribute to regulating temperatures in the fight against climate change. However, it is essential to note that AI is not a singular solution to the problem of climate change but rather a powerful tool to combine with other efforts, such as adopting effective climate policies and engaging society in the transition to a sustainable economy.

      The change in climate cannot be attributed to changes on the Sun. Solar activity dropped for every cycle since 1957 as global temperatures increased (the exact wrong trend). The change in energy input to the Earth by the Sun is only 0.1% from solar minimum to solar maximum over an 11-year period. The elliptical shape of the Earth's orbit changes that input to the Earth by 7% (70 times more in a year!) and we dont notice it.

    You have to store it. Solar and wind are unicorn dreams. If we were to power the world today on batteries, the world could be powered 1:15 minutes. You cannot recycle solar panels and wind turbines, it will not happen. There is no money to be made, except when you pay people who worked in the fossil fuel industry, half of what they were making before.
    To make one Electric Vehicle battery, it takes mining 500,000 tons of earth, those vehicles will not be electrically powered.
    That is only for E.Vs, your home will require significantly more.
    Okay, let us talk about industry........ How will those factories operate off of solar? There is absolutely no way solar (or wind) can provide enough power.
    There is no "Climate Crisis"

    • @scottekoontz
      @scottekoontz Рік тому

      Check your numbers. 500,000 tons is easily debunked. You can recycle turbine blades (and they do) and solar panels. Seems Fox entertainment got to you.
      No need to power the world with batteries only. Other methods are in place or being scaled up. Also, the crazy idea that all wind and all solar generation is down is a strange segue.
      According to the super majority of people who study this, including those in the gas and oil industry, this is a crises. According to the "skeptics" who were funded by Koch Industries, this is a crises.

    At least he is telling us some facts that are correct. He failed to mention that for the last three years we have had a La Niña event in the southern pacific oscillation, but this year we are seeing a very robust El Niño event that is causing weather events around the world. We can find reports that the Arctic was warmer in the 1930s and 40s then at the present time and we all remember the alarms founded by Professor William Karlsson in February 1952, that the Arctic was melting at a record level. He was predicting that melting ice, then with the swamp sea ports.
    We also have to be concerned with the location of the Stevensons Screens (instrument enclosure) that report weather conditions. Researchers have located the best majority of these only to find that they are near heat generating areas such as parking, lots, buildings, and one was located near a missing vent at a dumpsite. These enclosures contain electronic instruments that generate heat. The weather reporting station at. Nuuk, Greenland is located at an airport and the subject to jet engine heat as well as radiant energy from the surrounding cement facility.
    We can expect also smoke from the Canadian wildfires to cool the waters of the Atlantic. The bottom line is that there have been so much manipulation, and so many errors that we can be certain that the future is predictable but the past is uncertain.

    The IPCC AR6 report, chapter 11 'Weather and Climate Extreme Events in a Changing Climate' summarises the fact that severe weather events cannot be detected as increasing, nor attributed to human caused climate change:
    Increased Flooding: not detected, no attribution.
    Increased Meteorological Drought: not detected, no attribution.
    Increased Hydrological Drought: not detected, no attribution.
    Increased Tropical Cyclones: not detected, no attribution.
    Increased Winter Storms: not detected, no attribution.
    Increased Thunderstorms: not detected, no attribution.

    Increased Extreme Winds: not detected, no attribution.
    There is no climate crisis.

    • @drkstrong
      @drkstrong Рік тому +1

      Your IPCC summary is way off ... Perhaps you should read what they actually said and the papers they refer to.
      From Chapter 11:
      "It is extremely likely that human influence is the main contributor to the observed increase in the intensity and frequency of hot extremes and the observed decrease in the intensity and frequency of cold extremes on the global scale."
      "Most of the observed intensification of heavy precipitation over land regions is likely due to anthropogenic influence, for which greenhouse gases emissions are the main contributor. "
      "There is low confidence in attributing changes in the probability or magnitude of flood events to human influence because of a limited number of studies" You forgot to mention that it was not because there is no link but there isa lack of data. Not the same thing.
      "There is medium confidence that human-induced climate change has contributed to increasing trends in the probability or intensity of recent agricultural and ecological droughts, leading to an increase of the affected land area." Not no attribution as you claim.
      "The recent active TC seasons in the North Atlantic, the North Pacific, and Arabian basins cannot be explained without an anthropogenic influence."
      You dont seem to be an old scientist, more like a young propagandist.

    • @OldScientist
      @OldScientist Рік тому

      @drkstrong Pages 1761 - 1765, Table 11.A.2 Synthesis table summarising assessments
      Heavy Precipitation: 24 out of 45 global regions low confidence in observed trend (12 medium confidence, so 50-50), 43 out 45 low confidence in human attribution.
      Agricultural Drought: 31 out of 45 global regions low confidence in observed trend
      (14 medium confidence, so 50-50. No high confidence assessment). 42 out 45 low confidence in human attribution (3 medium, no high confidence).
      Ecological Drought as above.
      Hydrological Drought: 38 out of 45 global regions low confidence in observed trend.
      43 out 45 low confidence in human attribution (2 medium confidence, no high confidence).
      So basically the IPCC are saying we haven't caused drought and we didn't make it rain.
      Globally the ACE index (accumulated cyclone energy) 1980-2021 shows no increasing trend. Global Hurricane Landfalls 1970-2021 (updated from Weinkle et al, 2012) shows no trend. Satellite data since 1980 shows a slight downward global trend for total hurricaine numbers with 2021 being a record low year. From the NOAA GFDL website 'Global Warming and Hurricanes, An Overview of Current Research' (dated Feb. 9, 2023). And I quote "We conclude that the historical Atlantic hurricane data at this stage do not provide compelling evidence for a substantial greenhouse warming-induced century-scale increase in: frequency of tropical storms, hurricanes, or major hurricanes, or in the proportion of hurricanes that become major hurricanes." Multidecadal variability in Atlantic hurricaines is most probably related to the AMO (Vecchi et al, 2021). NOAA data 1851-2021 shows no trend in number of hurricaine landfalls with the record high being 1886. There is also no trend in the frequency of major hurricanes (Cat 3 +) for the same period, although the trend for the last 20 years is downwards. It makes no difference if you look at the Pacific. Using data from the JMA 1951-2022 we see typhoon activity trending downwards for over 7 decades.

    • @drkstrong
      @drkstrong Рік тому

      @@OldScientist You forget to mention that those with low confidence or no attribution are those with a paucity of data, not because there is no association or trend.
      You focus on landfall of hurricanes rather than the number or severity. It was long established that as the oceans warm the number of hurricanes will likely fall but their severity would increase. The severity (number of Cat 3 or higher) has increased.
      According to NOAA's GFDL the increase in cyclones is a rate of about 0.15/year from 1980 to present. That agrees well with the Vecchi et al. (2008) results from 1880 onwards (most of which has been since 1985).

    • @OldScientist
      @OldScientist Рік тому

      @drkstrong So there's little or no evidence that human activity has caused droughts or flooding.
      Landfall is used to make fair and continued comparison with earlier times (for example before satellite imagery) when many storms would have been missed. Including all storms has the appearance of inflating numbers in more recent times.
      And let's have it again from the NOAA GFDL website 'Global Warming and Hurricanes, An Overview of Current Research' (dated Feb. 9, 2023). And I quote "We conclude that the historical Atlantic hurricane data at this stage do not provide compelling evidence for a substantial greenhouse warming-induced century-scale increase in: frequency of tropical storms, hurricanes, or major hurricanes, or in the proportion of hurricanes that become major hurricanes."
      Got that: no compelling evidence of GREENHOUSE WARMING-INDUCED blah blah blah.
