Dad had a '71 Morris 1300 in maroon. I think the colour was called Empire Red, not sure. Anyway, he loved it, it proved fairly reliable, though it was nine years old by the time we had it. Dad's sister and brother also had them, 1100s as I recall, in grey, the other was cream, which was quite rare. Very popular here in Ireland at the time. Thanks for doing this one. Very relaxing and nostalgic.
Good little cars the Austin/Morris 1100/1300 if you wanted some thing just a bit bigger than a Mini with the same engine sizes. These cars were also built in Australia by Leyland Australia PTY. Like you said one of the first badge engineered cars the standard was the Austin and Morris with the standard looking grill ,then you had Vanden Plass , Worsley ,Riley and the MG with there own more up right grills. Great video I've always been a fan of BMC/BL from Austin Morris right to the end with MG Rover. Take care🚗👍
My grandfather had a 1970 (H) navy blue Austin 1100 four door (presume Super Deluxe based on the Morris spec in this brochure). It became our car when he ceased driving. We went everywhere in it, including down to Cornwall on family holidays. Quite a trip from Yorkshire. I have fond memories of that car, but presume it is long since scrapped.
my dad owned the 1100 in green and he had just picked it up from the dealership about 30 mins after collecting it he managed to lock the keys in the car and he called the dealerships and they charged him for opening the door my dad was not happy. this was in Northern Ireland

My mates mum had one of these a great roomy comfy car with a smooth ride.
Also exported to the USA as, MG 1100, and Austin America.
My grandmother had a Maroon 1300 Princess Vanden Plas automatic on an 'M' reg - so would have been last of line 1973 or 1974
My late aunt had the USA Austin America version. Not really suited to our driving conditions I don’t think it lived more than 4 years.
in Malaysia this model knows as Austin marina, but this car is no more bin Malaysia road, in UK how left UK road now
That number could be curb weight. total weight of the car.
parts hard to get
Shapeless and bland cars, the Allegro had much more personality in my opinion
