The Musée des Arts et Métiers, founded in 1794 during the French Revolution by Henri Grégoire, is housed in the Abbaye de Saint-Martin-des-Champs. With a total surface are of 10,000 m², 6,000m² is devoted to permanent exhibitions. 3,000 objects are displayed out of a total collection of 80,000 objects and 15,000 drawings. There are various areas to visit based on different themes: scientific instruments, materials, construction, communication, mechanics and transport.
