  • 4 days to complete the Tetty Trail which is part of the Trans Euro Trail. Done in October 2022 finding campsites at the end of each day. I was riding the KTM 890 Adv r, Ed was on the DRZ 400 and Rory aboard the Varadero 125. Fantastic scenery and trails.

      @advweekender5709 I have an 890, so I think it upped the anxiety level! Honestly, I was super impressed with the trails over there. I did not think riding in the UK could be both as beautiful amd difficult as you were showing.

    Bloody hell, a varadero 125???? Who says you need an Enduro or an adventure bike to go anywhere. Impressed 😁

      Your not wrong Paul! Rory rides that bike all over the UK and even through Germany on it. It’s inspired a trip planned this summer for a group of us who are going to purchase 125s 😂

      Exactly, this whole notion that you need these expensive technology rich behemoths ( in some cases) to ride a trail, even at great distance, I believe is something promoted by the manufacturers themselves, and the whole world of ADV riders has fallen for it. I mean , what I am actually saying here is that smaller reliable cheaper bikes a more fun, and easier to ride through bog holes....if you are not experienced enough to not drop your front wheel into one, instead of going around....

    At 18mins that was the lane all my mates couldn't get up 😆😆😆 I got up it on a 21 year old tt600r belgarda with full luggage,gets steeper further up and it bends up to the right and a short steep bit on a sharp left corner then flattens out under the trees it's all rock covered in mud and silt . Quite tricky , you need plenty of speed and keep the momentum all the way up to the top

    • @advweekender5709
      @advweekender5709  Рік тому +1

      Good effort dude! I have walked the lane from the other side before. It is a tough one and I’ll be back this summer to have another crack at it 😂. I probably had 4 attempts to get up it on this day.

    • @Rust_valley_racing
      @Rust_valley_racing Рік тому

      @@advweekender5709 I done it on my second attempt as mate stopped about 50 foot in front of me , my other mate on a xr650l had a melt down on it and proper spat his dummy out 😆😆, I turned around as my mates couldnt do it and they bypassed it lol, we doing tetty again in a few months and going up the great northern Welsh trail to barmouth then coming back to do the ryader loop and back home, we hoping to do it all in 6 or 7 days starting in Rhondda Valley..

      @@Rust_valley_racing that sounds awesome. Took us 4 days to do the tetty. I’ve ridden most of the Welsh TET living in South wales. It’s just the northern section left to do! A trail called motorway near Barmouth is a great challenge going up on a big bike if you fancy it 😂

    I loved my KTM 890 R but it was still almost 500 pounds! I don't have the skill or strength for one! Sold it and got another BMW GS. Serious off road for travel needs 300 pound bike!

      @advweekender5709  Рік тому

      It is a great bike and certainly can do it all in the right hands. I tend to walk unknown to me trails first if I’m alone. But usually if there’s a group of us then there’s always help on hand if it goes wrong 😂 I do love the satisfaction of getting the big girl up the tougher tracks though!

    Nice quality for a 1080p60 upload, what action cam did you use ? With my Sony Action cam, I need to upscale it first to 4K, before uploading it to UA-cam or UA-cam makes a mess of it.
    Pretty technical trails for that 890 :) Still a few weeks till mine arrives at the dealer, so I'm watching all 890r video's :)

      Thanks dude. I’m using a GoPro 8. If I’m honest I think I’d change to another brand. GoPro can be glitchy and unreliable. Congrats on the new bike! The 890 is super capable and fun!

  • @XtremeCoke
    @XtremeCoke Рік тому +1

    With your R80 setup , did you take the side plastic off to make them slimmer ? I'm exactly the same (890R +R80) and I'm not sure which is better, concern the bag will get rubbed by tyres if plastic removed or otherwise its the same width to the handle bar

    • @advweekender5709
      @advweekender5709  Рік тому +1

      I have the same worry dude. So I run the mosko r10 on the bike with the side Panals removed because it fits much better. On this trip i fitted the r80 on top of the r10 to help keep the bags away from the rear tyre. I think the fitment is much better on the newer r80 as you can angle the bags more horizontal on the side to keep them from going inwards whereas on the older r80 there is no adjustment on the bag angle. The r80 alone would fit better with the side Panals on in my opinion. The width of the bags have never been an issue though dude and I have filtered through heavy traffic with them fitted

    • @XtremeCoke
      @XtremeCoke Рік тому +1

      @@advweekender5709 I have the new R80 ver 3 which set to position 2(more horizontal), without knowing default angle I can't say it's any better. It can be positioned forward and sits under my thigh but still not ideal. Kriega could be a bit better fit? I don't know but I like MM nuclear proof feel.
      Never thought you can put R10 under, you are a genius!
      I found the width of the bike does sometimes matters as my handlebar brush along the bushes if you ride either side of ruts, or need to be more carefull ride in the middle. Agree filtering traffic is fine for the width of it.
      Sounds like I should still keep plastic on as I also have the foam prefilter installed with snorkel removed, abit less of mud I guess...
