I remember singing .Storm the forts of darkness at the Albert .hall. The singing parts were printed on manuscript and there was an error in the printing of the words. Instead of .'while the heedless millions die' we read 'while the headless millions die'. I still remember that every time I sing the song!!
In spending most of my time running the SP&S stalls throughout the Congress gave me the opportunity to meet many people from all over the Army world. Great memories see this film. I actually even managed to sell a bible to the General.
Thank you for this, I remember as a nine year old attending the field day at Crystal Palace and my highlight was getting an autograph from Joy Webb, who 15 years later became my neighbor. thanks for the memories.
What a shame this film is in such poor condition for such a historic event. What happened to the colour? The original seems to be stored at the BFI Film Archive, although not available on BFI player
