And how can we make Meta-analysis and Systematic Reviews, if we don't have the papers to analyze itself. With the small amount of research in OT, and the smaller amount that are actually published. 👀

Good question. I think researchers will always attempt to make those, given what is available in the literature. Small is technically relative. There is a lot of information available in the OT literature between OT and occupational science. But I think the more practical question is application of evidence informed practice. A good example even beyond OT is when covid first became widely deadly. It wasn't in the literature. There were no systematic reviews. But a lot of studies were published based on observation and expert opinion and it was what we had access to the time. And it was low levels of "evidence" but all we had to work off of, but still better than nothing nonetheless. Now...we have probably systematic reviews and higher levels, but the treatment is very similar just more supported, gradually improved over time. And there's no one perfect approach, each pt is different and there's different severities. Early covid is an example of evidence informed practice and what everybody practiced from doctors to therapists. I think asking an OT who has worked with 1000 covid patients is just as valuable if not more than, asking one who had read and familiar with a recent systematic review , but has not treated a single pt. What do you think?

And a lot of systematic reviews are out there that evaluate a gap or lack of research or their "low quality". Or they just cite a few articles based on what's available. I think it is what you do with this because this will always be the case. You don't ever read a systemic review where they go, and we interviewed this one world renowned expert in the field, e.g., Fauci, and here's what they had to say. But peak pandemic couple years ago, with lack of info, professionals highly depended on sources such as these and their predictions.
