I enjoyed this video. It reminded me of when my great-grandmother would punch holes in old Christmas cards and crotchet them together for a cardboard house. Then, she would fill them with her homemade cookies to give to friends and neighbors.
Hi Jayda, I made this ADORABLE Gingerbread House. I made it as a stuffed decoration with Loops And Threads Cozy Heathered yarn in the colorway Sand, the candy cane part in Bernat Blanket in the colorways Purple Plum and Deep Sea, and the frosting in Bernat Baby Blanket in the colorway Moonlight. I may also do peppermint appliques and a snowman one!!! Thank you so much for this beautiful and amazing tutorial and I can't wait to see your new video tomorrow!!! Have an awesome weekend!!!- Love Lily Rose🎅💚❤️🎄🎁😀
I love your bubbly personality, makes things fun and your easy patterns are great for those of us who have learned to crochet from the internet..Thank You!
Hello from uk i love all your videos infact i started watching you when you did your star blanket since then ive made everything youve made and im making this gingerbread house again for friends for next xmas plus all your mini hats scarfs jackets and stockings your an amazingly talented women i just love your work anyway i wont bore you anymore much love lindsay xx
Ms. Jada I made this and gave as a Christmas gift to my sis in law, crocheted some mint candy, lollypops and placed on one of the sides of the house, the other side a big window, also added inside with the stuffing a small pouch of scented candle wax chips. couldn't find potpourri that smelled like gingerbread, but the wax chips worked out and she loved it! thanks again 😋
I'm going to buy some brown wool this weekend and give this a go. I am only going to change 1 thing if I succeed and that will be to add some mini bells along the edge of the roof! So excited to make this!
I just finish making this. It came out pretty good. I just need to work on my tention. Thank you so much. Now back to the shawl I'm making my mom to go with the fingerless gloves.
I ended up making one of your little Christmas trees for the back with sequins & beads for decorations. My daughter's put her order in for more handmade items for her tree. Wondering how hard it would be to turn into a church?
I think I found my craft for our annual Grinchmass party we do with our grandchildren! 💜💜💜 I can make them plain and make windows, snow, candies, and other decorations for them to glue on at the party along with a little foam piece they can write their name and 2018 on! I’ll make the base bigger for a yard. Jayda, thank you, thank you! I hope you don’t mind me changing your design and letting 7 little ones redecorate your homes. Lol 😂 I’m so very excited about it. Last year we did 5 (2 too young) real gingerbread houses. I think I’m still finding candy pieces and icing smears. 🤣
Hi jayda just found this it's so lovely and so cute,l am just sorry l never found it before Christmas, will do in new year and keep for gifts thanks so much you are a great inspiration, xxx
Hi Deborah! Happy New Year :) I often take this week (and often a good chunk of January!) to make up some stuff for next year LOL, I put it away in my Make Ahead Stash and hope I don't forget about it * giggle *
Very cute. One of those videos, where I found the instructions very easy to understand and follow. Tried it and really looks so nice . Hats of to you for sharing this video ❤️
After I crocheted the roof together, I used a 3 mm hook for a picot icing. I'm going for a finner edge. I've found some sparkly yarn to try for embroidery. I love this little house. Can we make the rest of the gingerbread village now please. Hint, hint, hint. :-)'xx
Hi jayda Wow you made it so easy to follow, I'm going to try and adjust it to make a bigger one, not sure 🤔 if it's possible but I'm going to give it a try. Thank you ago for Arab easy to follow video 😊😊😊
Thank you Jayda I just love this gingerbread house I'm going to make them for my children for their Christmas trees it is absolutely adorable happy holidays to you and your family .,,from your crochet friend Sue💕
Hi! The easiest way to downsize this project is to use a much smaller crochet hook (size 3.00 mm for example) and a fine weight yarn (like a size 2). Follow the pattern as normal and they will end up much smaller than mine 😊
I'm soooo happy to have come across this video! I just made one (for a Xmas gift) and it's SUPER CUTEEE... Thank you Jayda. You're an amazing teacher xxx
Hi Jayda! This tutorial was so much fun to watch that I had to try making this gingerbread house which I did. I used a color of my choice for the house, trim and windows. I eliminated the candy cane trim. Thank you so very much for sharing and you are an amazing teacher. Happy Holidays to you and for sure this house will be up on my xmas tree this year!
Hi Rebecca, off the top of my head, I'm going to say yes...but you could also use thinner weight yarn and a smaller hook for a smaller size and still have room to add all the decor :)
I couldn't figure out how to download a pic of it here so 8 went to your Facebook page and joined your group hope ublikebit like I said it's a little off but I love it's my first attempt
you're so sweet Jayda. thank you for the response. i've watched the tutrial of that shawl, but didn't notice that the one you were wearing in this video has been done in the same pattern but just in other colour combination. Jayda InStitches The first thing I thought of when I started watching this video. “Boy, I love that cowl. 💜💜” I searched comments because I knew I couldn’t be the only one. 😂 Thanks JC & Jayda! Now I’m off to buy my gingerbread house pattern and evidently make a cowl. Lol 😂 The awesome thing is that I have all the supplies in my stash! I even have baby yarn with sparkles in it so it will look icy. ☺️❄️
