Well, it may depend on your definition of "friends", mother.
Where im from, we refer everybody we know from the class as "friends".

@@AnnikaMorina I think, where im from as long as we know their names/face (we may forget their real names when we call them by their nick names, everyday),
we have talked to them alot, and we dont have major dispute/having hostile manner (unless "hostile manner" in fun way). Thats friend.
