      She was retired based on Iran's Republican Air Force used them as their primary air strike platform. By mothballing our fleet, it basically shut down all available hardware and support for the aircraft worldwide. Essentially grounding Iran's fleet. But I agree, definitely a beautiful plane 1) Spitfire, 2) Mustang D, 3)DC3, 4) P41, 5) Tomcat in my book.

      I beg to differ. There isn't a better looking fighter than the F-16 Falcon. Sure, the 14's and 15's have some nice bells and whistles, but the 16 has all the curves in the right places.

    Amazing attention to detail and incredible performance. I have always wondered how they take off and land so effortlessly on those grassy areas - it looks very bumpy for those small wheels to my eyes. Undercarriage struts that could get damaged by a wheel caught up in the grass. All these shows are like this - in fields - I'm surprised they don't hire an area that has some smooth concrete or bitumen

      It could also maneuver with the best of them. It defied physics considering its size. It could out-turn much smaller and nimbler planes like the A-4 Skyhawk or a F-5E Tiger in a slower speed fight. Of course, it had massive afterburner thrust from two big motors to muscle its way in a fight.

    That's amazing! How the hell was he able to get the aerodynamics right so it still flies with changing wing shape?!! The real F-14 went thru so much trouble in development to get the computer working correctly on the wing angle at different speed and folding back completely was only for supersonic!

      Seem like he didn't spend much flight time in the true delta configuration. Possible the model isn't quite as stable with the wings swept. All the variable geometry platforms had similar issues. A big reason we don't see them any more.

    My 2 favorite post WWII U.S. fighter planes are the F-14 and the A-10. My 2 favorite WWII planes are the P-51 and the Horten Ho 229 a truly groundbreaking jet fighter design built and flown in Nazi Germany in the dying days of World War Two. The Horten Ho 229 - might be a footnote in aviation history, but it was so far ahead of its time that its aerodynamic secrets are still not completely understood.

    I hate the videos that start out with stills... So I spend the first few moments of the video convinced that it is paused toggling back and forth, and adjusting volume (usually cranking it up). . . Then the sound comes on and I wake the whole house.

      +tbobborap1 There’s so many UA-cam videos out there that are just slide shows, I think when a video opens with still photos it could potentially make people stop watching and click on another video. I actually had to scrub forward through the video to check if there was actual footage or not. I think i’d be wiser to put the images at the end of the video instead.
      Your rude response doesn’t help either.

    • @borntorazehell777
      @borntorazehell777 5 років тому +1

      The carrier would have to be at least 50ft long or so to take off from. Landing on the the carrier on the other hand would be a different story, would take a master skilled RC flier just to land on the carrier in the water, unless the plane had a Go Pro camera in front of the plane, so he/she can see where they're flying.
