Anyone saying she's using autotune because she can't sing doesn't actually understand how autotune works. You actually STILL have to hit the note and be in key, it's solely just used for effect.
This depends heavily on how you set it up though. A friend of mine does not use it chromatic; he uses a key he wants and sings slightly off the tone to ensure that autotune always tunes it to the correct note. It makes a noticable difference if he hits the note though. But I completely agree that this use in this particular song is really for the style and I really like it :)

It's objectively not a good cover, the auto tune does not compliment the rest of the song. Autotune can work artistically and musically, but it didn't here. This deserved criticism, and got it, don't be so sensitive.
You don't need to be beethoven to recognize when something doesn't work. Don't fucking patronize me. This is not art, poorly covering another bands song is not art. What a weird comment, anyone that listens to music is judging it, that's how you determine whether you like the band/artist. Maybe, "honey", just accept music is allowed to be criticized and judged, anyone can do that, not just beethoven.

And if you haven't heard the nouveau Queen of Pop's music by now, you seriously need to reassess how you spend your time on UA-cam, and probably the whole interwebs in general. Also, T-Pain, really? Please, this has far too much humanity and emotion to even be recognizable by that hack. Amazing reimagining of the song in the artists unique style, if you ask me.

And then I'm trapped, overthinking
And yeah, probably self-doubt
You tell me to get over it
And to take you out
But I can't, I'm too scared
And here's the night bus, I have to go
And the doors are closing, and you were waving
And I like you, and I'll never let it show
And you won't wait, and maybe I won't mind
I work better on my own
And now I'm home, a little bit drunk
And I ask myself
What if it's not meant for me?
Love
What if it's not meant for me?
Love
A few days pass since I last saw you
And you've taken over my mind
I'm retelling jokes you made that made me laugh
Pretending that they're mine
I wanna tell the whole world about you
I think that that's a sign
I'm losing self-control and it's you
It really is, 1000 times
I look at your picture and I smile
How awful's that? I'm like a teenage girl
I might as well write all over my notebook
That you rock my world
But you do, you really do
You've turned me upside down
And that's okay, I'll let it happen
'Cause I like having you around
I'm electric, a romantic cliché
Yeah, they really are all true
When we catch eyes at that stupid party
I know exactly what to do
I'll take your hand, and we will leave
French exits from me and you
And now I'm home, a little bit drunk
Some things don't change, and I know now
Me and you were meant to be
In love
Me and you were meant to be
In love
Me and you
I see the signs of a lifetime, you 'til I die
I don’t wanna know vibes
Why is everyone bashing this cover? I think Charli did an amazing take on it?
the most culturally significant and important moment in musical history. music as we know it was completely derailed and the repercussions are still being felt world over. people died.
Ok this is actually fucking iconic
can’t stop listening to this!
The issue is when someone like the #CoversGirl can do overtones, country yodels etc just by natural skills. Completely blows this out of the water.
charli needed to cover this. a perfect match, can't get over it.
her voice is so sweet! even with autotune
THIS IS SO GOOD
Awesome
They're covering each others' song. So cute
This effect makes me cry. Haha, Idk whyyyy but metallic notes make it more emotional.
Too many close minded, opinionated people in all these Charli videos from this morning. Grow up people.
"Growing up" would be to accept that other people will enjoy different things and have differing opinions, and not telling them to grow up.
I actually love this... _weird_
This is outstanding
xoxogossipgoat21 outstandingly shit
I agree! It's outstanding how dedicated you all are to defending a shit cover of a genuinely great song.
AW LAWD! Lit. Ha, love the hate in the comments from Wolf Alice fans, y'all need to get over the stupid cliche "if its electronic [or just not acoustic], its garbage" mentality. It's 2018, and your view is about a decade late of being relevant.
God bless you Charli XCX
